It may be a good thing for those over there I know some people don't have good water unless thay have a spring the wells have sufer or iron in it. If thay want it go for it go for it best of luck....

How very kind and generous of Smyth County to consider piping water across the county line to a town which does not pay taxes in Smyth county, as opposed to piping water within the county to a town without drinkable water, which DOES pay Smyth county taxes, such as ..oh..I don't know...Sugar Grove, maybe?

Wow, Fred, after reading the article, as you wisely suggested, I guess my post makes no sense. The article states:

"Smyth County would borrow roughly $675,000" for the project.

I guess I should have wondered if Smyth Co. would consider "borrowing $675,000" for a town which pays tax in Smyth Co....

Sugar Grove needs to get Boucher in to it and maybe it will happen there too, Tannersville's phone and power comes out of Smyth County and not a word said about that, don't worry this may not happen for some time now many years down the road.

I contacted Morgan Griffith office for help in the water situation several times and they finally referred me to senator Will Morfield and senator Phil Puckett....we all have to start emailing them as soon as possible to get some action done.

If i recall it was an over $ 4 million project and ultimately didnt make financial sense to move forward. Tannersville was only paying about 10% of the total cost.

After years of bugging everyone i could . I received an email from Morgan Griffiths office
saying that there was no funds for the project and that it was not feasible with the income of the area. if we lived in million dollar homes it would of happened. Thx Tazewell County for caring about us
