Saltsburg basketball is just around the corner and there is now even more transition. Saltsburg went 8-14 last year, ending the year on a slide. Now that Jesse Reed has transferred to G.C.C. does it go from bad to worse or just stay bad? Or does the team have a good season by any standard?

Maybe this will be a down year but basketball has a strong history at both Blairsville and Saltsburg. From 2000 to 2009 Saltsburg has won 3 District 6 titles and Blairsville has won 2 district titles. No other School District in the the district and possibly statewide can match that record. So why would you make a statement like that?

Did any of the players on those teams get a scholarship to attend college for their basketball talents ?????(small high school teams do not attract college coaches) a local star is nobody in college .

Are you saying, if the teams are combined the players have a better chance to get a Scholarship you are wrong. First, they will play the same teams so the competition will not be any better. Second, in Basketball if you are good enough they will see you on AAU teams. Third,Very few basketball players from this area get a full Scholarship, small or big schools. Who was the last player from Indiana County to get a D-1 scholarship ?There are a few from the WPIAL But rare from Dist 6.

You need to call your local AD and he will set you straight. Maybe you should also check into the service Academy programs- You will find some from the combined sports programs that attended them .I must move on to a more informed program

You will not finish with a .500 record so you wont be playing in districts.
