wonder if the guy really did it or if the police interogated him so hard that he admitted to it-u ever watch those crime shows where they do that. seems like he was a compassionate fellow who actually bathed the kids to get the fever down. just wondering.

alexis could be onto something, it is so easy for an innocent person to admit to a crime, but many are unaware of the statistics. It could have been unfortunate timing for him, but the fact that it happened so soon after the boyfriend's arrival leads me to believe he did it.

however, with the mother... could have easily been the years of abuse/neglect. I don't believe she had the mental capacity of an adult (feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I feel like this is important information in the story -- doesn't change how terrible the acts were, though).

either way, two people were there and I believe someone could have stopped it. such a sad story.

Should people accused and convicted of endangering children be allowed to adopt more children.

Why not? Aren't there many orphaned children in need of a home? And how many of these convicted child endangerers/molestors claim to love children? They actually love them to death sometimes. So why not let them adopt more?

For those who are againt this adoption idea...why would you let these same criminals "make" more children? Shouldn' something be done to prevent that outrage too?

How??? How can this be done? The rights of the Constitution are for every one. And who draws the line and where is that line as to who should have children and who should'nt? I can't say that I disagree with you at all but what if "The Law" said that YOU could'nt have children?

And why would "The Law" say he/she couldn't have children? Not "just because". Do you think then that everyone should be "allowed" to have children? Pedophiles? Rapists? Murderers? There is nothing in the Constitution, per se, concerning having children. But don't the children have a right to live without fear of death by the hand of their parent?

When the laws of morality, legality and society are all intentionally broken in such a manner that an innocent child is injured or killed, I don't think it a stretch that preventing the guilty party from having more children is the more responsible thing to do.

We're not talking about taking this action based on a potential of it happening, but on the proof that it already did happen. The Constitution has been so corrupted over the past fifty years, I wouldn't rely on it as the basis for a valid argument.

Why do these mother leave their children with men they are dating, living with or in some cases just met? For the past several years at least once a month somewhere in the USA a incident like this happens. When my husband and I divorced I never even let my kids meet the guy I was dating till I thought the relationship was serious. I then neved left my kids with them. They had a father and we both had families willing to babysit. I also made it clear that my kids where not to be "physically" punished by anyone. It is the responsibility of a parent to protect their child. If this mother had a below level IQ then safeguards should have been in place for these children. The natural father of these kids and cys already thought these children were being abused or neglected. Supervised visits till moms care of the children was assessed may have saved them.

Hey, I agree! But again, HOW? How can it be done? As soon as "The Law" tells someone that they are done having children, some attorney wanting to be a celebrity becomes involved waving the flag saying it is unconstitutional. If you can come up with a way for this to be done, I'll back ya.
