Come alive and start telling it the way it is

To all from Norm Niver;

I am encouraging this Group to come alive and start telling it the way it is. We as Stakeholders will not stand for this foolish small time bait fisheries at the south end of the sea in the same water quality that was just fine for the States project as far back as 2 years ago. A 7 foot deep poor water quality for their project that will service shore birds only and the White and Brown pelican must just fly on or die.

Or die? Is this what I am seeing now? Seems the only fish supply for the pelicans that are still here, and there are thousands, is to be had at the close by Kent Sea Tech Farms.

I have never seen the pelican stay into January and the cold weather. I also have always observed that the tilapia disappear when the water gets cold. As of now tilapias have disappeared only to reappear by the millions this next spring.

I look out my window every day and see hundreds of pelican feeding in the early morning: dipping down and coming up with nothing and then only to keep fishing and then park themselves on the sandy beach and breakwater to sun themselves. It begins again early in the evening and then on into the night giving them the same results. Dipping down, they come up and throw their heads back with nothing to swallow.

I agree, Norm.
I live one-half mile from the shore of the Salton Sea. I continuously, recently, see pelicans flying (hovering) over my house as though they are looking for something to eat!
Yes, we have had many, many... years of 'study' on how to fix this Sea, and then we are presented with this solution of reducing/dividing/drying up the Sea. WHAT!!
There are many beautiful birds that visit every year -- there are many people living here with no other place to go. If there is no Sea, there is no place for these people to go (their home is here), there is no place for the birds to go (their home & food supply is (or was) here.
What is everyone thinking?
The people sitting in Sacramento may not be affected, but they will be paying for all of the lawsuits filed!!
Remember Owens Lake?
How can you sitting in Sacramento even possibly think that drying more than half a body of water is going to save anything?
You are reducing the availability of food supply to the birds, you are reducing the recreational availability to everyone; and you are reducing people's property values.
San Diego needs to recognize that they should have started refurbishing ocean water years ago (just like other countries).
San Diego needs to stop creating golf courses for which they have no water supply. San Diego is not entitled to the water that was going into the Salton Sea, simply because they are on the west coast ocean and should not look to inland waters for their water source.
Especially when the water from the Colorado, in reality, does not belong to California.
Get a grip people. You in San Diego need to find another solution, and stop hosing down your driveways!

Other than cabitzing what can we do?
The state has a deficet that they state at 14 billion,if they are admiting that much in reality it must be at least 3 times that,Don`t look to them for any help. The votes are in the megalopilis coastal regions guess where the resourses are goin.
Willing to fight but who and how.Now is the time for a leader to stand up.
Ricks protest is a good start, now what.If we roll over we can`t call it rape.

Yes, Sacramento is looking for ways to cut the budget -- which they should.
However, how can San Diego say they deserve the water going into to the Sea, when they ignore ways to save and recycle water. San Diego does not have any right to the water that was running into the Sea; which they now have.
Give it back! And find a way to supply your own waste of water!!!!
The Salton Sea is the largest body,s of water in Southern California/it is the only inland Sea within the United States/it is a major flyway for the major bird population. How can any AND EVERYONE IGNORE THIS!!

I just can't help repeating this -- if the Sea dries up, as the State proposes, we will all be breathing the repurcustions!
Evey state east of us, that litterally has had no say in the matter, San Diego who has taken the water and continues to waste it, and Los Angeles and surrounding areas will all be suffering the repurcurtion of this proposed fiasco!!!
Please, everyone, JUST wake up!!
