New to the area

#21 Nov 26, 2008
I already have, thank you.
In the area now

#22 Jun 6, 2009
I have moved in as of December 1st and actually live in Vista Del Mar. I come home every weekend and its like going on vacation once a week. I have planted, fertilized and my once dead property is now green and you could probably see it from outer space.
I haven't been on here for a long time, but I can't believe the bickering that goes on. This is a wonderful area, but lots of the long timers keep on complaining of how bad this place is, and the ones that have never been here just put it down.
You need to thank God for what you have. Be glad you don't have to sit in traffic 1 hr to go 5 miles, hear all the noise, be amongst all the violence and the real bad people. Those that are destructive to the area are young children want to be thugs and if everyone banded together all that grafitti and the nuisance would stop.
I pick up trash in the surrounding lots every weekend, and if we all did it we would somehow get it cleared. My suggesstion to the City Council is to impose mandatory jail time for illegal dumping, graffiti and public abuse of this wonderful area. A stiff kick in the butt does no good, but jail time and a stiff fine hurts real bad. I bought a home here for life, and I plan on staying forever. Try buying a home in the Los Angeles area. You can't buy a home, not even in Compton for less than 300K much less qualify if you don't make at least 130K yearly.
Like I said, this place is a blessing and sitting around complaining doing nothing will get nothing.

im new to area, also come from o.c./l.a. area and love the sea.ive found many folks fear growth and developement will ruin our peacefull & serene oasis. but neglect and time will turn it into a even worst place than the naysayers exacerate. so few people know anything but negative about the sea. even the internet shows almost nothing but rotting travel trailers in sea.lets form a private entity to change image. i will volumteer to remove foreign debris, still standing in water for almost 50 years.lets educate people. the sea is natural, man only made the mess
