I have lived here in Salt Lick for many years off and on now, I know many people here, good and bad. I have got to say that there are good people here in Salt Lick, it is just that you do not see them. They come from good family's who care for them and know what they can get into running around. That is a good thing, cause unlike the other people you would see in Salt Lick or come out of Salt Lick are nine out of ten times come from family's who ripped and ran the streets them self's, on drugs, and low life's who use the system to live for free off the government. Most of Salt Lick has went for the worse in the past 30 years! Now cause of the sluts, drugs, punks, low life, and the kids that run wild at night this town is not the place to raise children nor have a family. Ill say that if all the good people here in salt lick would stand up (and i know how hard it would be cause everybody is kin to each other in some way) and do something about it! Someone out there knows who has the drugs but will not say nothing, someone knows who is whoring around, someone out there knows the bad people here in Salt Lick! But why do we all not do something about it!

Well i hope you get it, but what can u do that others have not? Will you stand alone when members of the city board are the ones in fault, being that some members in the city's offices are paying off people to stay out of trouble? Large family's are related to one and another in this small community and being so people will not tell on there family members, that will make things harder to clean this place up. People are being payed off to keep this place a mess, how would being a sheriff help anything when it could be one of your boss's that is hiding of covering up something? Many people just do not want to get involved cause it is dangerous to take on such a task. Ti needs to be done but what will you do and how, who will have your back?

What is said is very true. I remember when kids where able to go to the school yard or play ground without the parents worrying like they do today. You could walk around salt lick and everyone would talk, if not with words then with a wave of the hand. It seems as though no one cares what happens anymore. I think one problem is because salt lick really has nothing to offer anymore. I used to love going to the salt lick homecoming as a child and as a young adult. Everyone would have fun, until the drugs started getting in the way. Without something for them to look forward to, I really doubt that it will get fixed, they are not thinking about fixing the future cause they just cant get a clear picture of how it used to be and could be again. I would gladly help clean up this town. We have lived here to long to let drugs ruin our hometown, and everyone has got to work together. I know the ones who dont care wont help, but I know that there is plenty of us that are willing to bring life back to this once pleasant town.

your absolutely wright but i already have plenty of people in mind to help me, people who are ready to take on anything that gets passed are way, i love salt lick i always have for starters i woould make it that minors 17 and younger couldnt be out past 9:00pm and their would be random road blocks like their was when i was young, their would also be no loitering in the depo anymore, warrants would be surved like they should and the law would be enforced like it should

well baird i wish you lots of luck.the older people who want saltlick clean will more than likely stand behind you.its the new voters that will refuse letting it happen.just try hard son, with the right people behind you,i can just about garuntee you your place in salt lick. taking back what is yours. eveyone deserves the right to live in a clean town and this is what it needs.someone willing to stand up and right the wrongs and teach the younger generation that they will learn to respect what they have, not to destroy what their parents tried to make for them. I also would proudly stand behind you knowing that you are this devoted to helpibg this town. Ever need someone who can help getting people to get behind you for this cause just let me know. I applaud you for such efforts.

It's people like you that teens turn to drugs.why not help clean up the place so they aren't bored. surely if enough people pulled together we could build some kind of,hell i dont know, something for the teens, then something for the smaller kids as well.i really dont think baird means for the town to go all 1800s or anything. i have kids too and you cant trust them being outside of the house, and its not them you dont trust, its everyone else around them. maybe you could be a good spokesman for the SAY NO TO DRUGS program, what you think?! or are you one that is either pushing the teens to boredom or selling the poor kids the drugs? ALL our kids deserve to grow up in a nice clean town, and deserve to see their parents and family members happy, not strung out on drugs and fighting to keep their homes cause of drugs. its people like you saying those comments, that keep our town in disgrace, think about it, not only are you slapping the town in the face, but you are slapping yourself as well.

excuse me?! i dont do drugs..never have. I had a close member of my family die cuz of an overdose when i was in high school, therefore, i didnt have the curiosity to do drugs and still dont. im just saying, whats wrong with teens going to the bowling alley with their friends, or camping or somthing like that?? I was a good girl in high school and my mom trusted me 100% and i trust my son as well. He is in high school, honor roll and very good kid..so i think he deserves some free time for hisself on the weekends. u cant punish the good kids.

I have heard that James Smith will be running a full campaign next election. If you want something good done in this county, cast your vote for him. He ran last year as a 'write-in' candidate and only campaigned one month--he came in 2nd place.

you have a good point but you cant camp in the middle of town and as for as i know we dont have a bowling alley, thats great you trust your son, but what buisness does he have being in town when everything is closed(not saying that he does that) but kids have a tendency to break the law just to have a little bit of freedom, or to make there friends think their cool, and im not saying punish the good kids but why do you think their good 1 its because their parents taught them it was wrong or 2 they have seen someone else get punished for it

As I, I am in the same boat as you dear. Close family mambers gone from the drugs,a child in high school. But I also want to know that all the drug users and pushers stay the hell away from my kids. I believe the only way to do it is to have someone in law enforcement that will actually do something to help them.I too believe the good kids should not be punished but at the same time, even a boy in high school, even the good ones should not be allowed to run all hours of the night. There really does need to be a set time for salt lick to be clear. Hell your son can set outside on the front porch all night, thats still giving him a litle freedom. Or let him go spend the night with a friend. But we have to fix our town and the ones of us who have good kids can get them to understand they are not being punished.
