As bad press abounds throughout the internet on various blogs and ecommerce websites, ebay sellers report declining sales. Could the recent purges of thousands of small sellers and other negative press reports being frightening buyers away from ebay?

Ebay continues to receive an avalanche of bad press. The sales of Holocaust souvenirs that were finally pulled, the ongoing purges of small sellers, the federal investigation of ebay's Bill Me Later. And then ebay's stock dropped to a 52-week low of $48 the other day.

Another major problem: Chinese sellers continue to flood ebay with cheap items at rock bottom prices, undercutting and undermining American ebay sellers.

Between class action lawsuits against them and the feds investigating Bill Me Later, ebay has its hands full as far as "reputation management" goes...

At eBay, buyers can get it for free if they just say they never got it. Buyer's word is law. And eBay points their crooked, greedy little finger at the USPS ( or whatever service you used because they don't have a warehouse and never will-they have no product )... to blame. It's such a racket because even if you use eBay shipping labels with tracking and pay $2.27 instead of using stamps, they don't always recognize their own tracking numbers they take a cut of. Even if it shows " delivered ", a buyer can claim INR and get it for free.....Especially if it's even a day later than eBay's made up delivery times. Buyer opens INR case- Ebay refunds and closes case- package shows up later. Seller is screwed out of money, shipping and the package and fees. If Ebay would make buyers wait a month like they have to for the Chinese sellers, there would be less INR's.( China can ship via e-packet and get it here in a week but they usually donít unless you pay for it.) eBay also convinced everyone to offer " FAST AND FREE " shipping and told us to choose a 1 day handling time- promising ď higher search and views ď, not knowing eBay was showing buyers dates that were impossible to deliver by, based on a seller's prior performance.( To compete with Amazonís FREE 1 day and Sunday delivery for Prime customers.) They also counted holidays and weekends in their made up delivery times. Scammers caught on - no tracking number entered- or a stuck tracking number, or you entered the wrong tracking number or package wasnít scanned- and they get it FREE. This pic was taken just over 2 1/2 years ago and how I used to ship prior to being opted into the wonderful scam of program called TRS. Rarely had an issue with INR's, or returns for that matter. Now? 5 or 8 of those " not arriving " would get any seller kicked off the site ( and has ). If you don't pay tracking, you are def screwed. You have no proof of shipping for CSR's to look at and the buyers are watching tracking numbers like a hawk now- and some complain when you donít offer FREE 1 day shipping and will defect you for it. So Basically, eBay created this new entitled buyer and Ebay wants their cut of shipping fees so they've scared all the sellers into paying for eBay shipping labels. Percentage of a Free shipping or a 1st class stamp ( 0%) versus Priority Mail ( 10%) is a big difference and eBay is making a killing off shipping fees alone. I think it's also nonrefundable. Cha- ching!

What kills me is, how they are getting a percentage of shipping- and allowing a buyer to ding a seller for high shipping fees when they themselves TAKE A PERCENTAGE...and sellers raise their shipping fees to compensate.... itís just un-freaking-believable to me. Not only that. They used those low DSR's to remove the TRS 20% discount and also used them to restrict sellers completely from selling on the site. BANNED! And there are STILL sellers that are just now finding out Ebay takes a percentage of shipping fees and they are PISSED. Probably because they offered free shipping for years and are now having to charge to keep up and make money and are seeing it on their invoices. I think thatís the route to take them down. Iíve yet to see a plausible answer as to how they think they are entitled to 10% of a sellerís shipping fees. Show me where I agreed to pay them a percentage for shipping in the UA.( Donít even bring up the bs price gouging crap because itís still going on and they make more money if a seller charges 40 bucks to ship on a .99 cent small lightweight item. They donít care what a seller charges and they never did. They saw PROFIT and stuck their greedy little paws into it. And those few measly dollars were the only profit many sellers made!) They donít ship it, warehouse it, package it- nothing but take a cut like dirty cops or the mob would to operate a business on their turf.
