I think we need a change after reviewing what kind of situation or Country is facing, I am definitely ready for a change. We have a rep who says he is working for us, but when you review his voting record it would be a major eye opener for most residents, just read the article in this Sundays Paper about Mr. Smithson voting record, he has not voted for us, it is sickening to thing we put someone in office who voted as a liberal, will not support the removal of illegals, does vote for abortion, even without parental consent, does not believe English should be or only language, believes that he can vote the way people bribe him to vote. Voted against suing the Gov't to stop the Health Care Bill from affecting us, he was for it, yeah I said voted to where we have to have someone tell us that we have to buy insurance or be fined and if you don't then you are going to be fined and if you don't pay the fine, you GO TO JAIL... that's just wrong, voted against lawyers having a cap on what they can charge, go ahead Bud and just let them take advantage of our already deprived County. And I am tired of this, why don't you care about your Citizens Mr. Smithson, why? I will be happy to see you go, you are Liberal to the Core, but you keep lying in your Newspaper articles, you haven't done anything for veterans, you fellow house members did, you did not Sponsor any bills for veterans yourself, if you did then you could say YOU did, but you have only sponsored 2 bills your entire time in office and that was in the beginning, years ago, since then you've done nothing for us, stop saying Honest, your lying to US and YOURSELF, you need to admit on how you vote for the citizens of this County. Shitty is how.

Republicans believe in the "trickle down theory." Less taxes and smaller government. Less taxes creates more income for business owners, therefore jobs are created. Repubs believe in less regulation and government interference. More flexibility in how to run business. Their beliefs stem from the christian religion. They are pro capitolism.
Democrats believe in the "trickle up theory." More taxes paid by businesses are distributed to all social classes. This results in more buying power by everyone therefore creating income for businesses and therefore creating jobs. Dems believe in regulation of business. Their beliefs stem from flexibility and help all social classes.
Republican sounds better to me

Democrats and Republicans

Democrats are generally more liberal. They believe in a larger federal government, and often implement tax plans to try to help the less privileged. They tend to believe the government must look for the greater good above the individual person in terms of well-fare and do what is necessary to make the populace more "equal". They assert that the values our country holds must evolve over time, and, therefore, tend to support such controversial choices as Pro Choice and gay marriage.

Republicans are generally more conservative. They believe that the answers do not lay with the government generally, but rather with the people. They want less government interference and tend to believe more strongly in property rights and less strongly in well-fare rights, holding economic equity above equality. Many republicans are religious and tend to hold to the morals characterizing the Founding Fathers, which results in general disapproval of abortions and, for some, gay marriage.

I have seen the 2 parties change over the years. But some times its out with the old and in with the new. It is going to be our downfall if we do not take a stand, get out and vote. We are the people and we should be heard, after all the person we place (elect ) to represent us should do exactly that. Mr. Smithson you may be a good ole Boy, as they say, but you are a sorry State Representative, you support everything I do not believe is right, you are the not doing your job as you swore yourself to do, your job is to be their as our voice in the State Capital, but our voice is not being heard, this year you didn't even vote on key issues, so why are you taking a pay check if your not going to vote, vote for us? Your past record already shows your views on Abortion, illeagal immigration control and many other issues, so not voting is not going to cover it up for this election, do your job BUD, I hope that the people vote you out, no ore bribes, no more nonsense, it is your responsibility to better our County, not let the Gov't over tax us and demand things on us that are unconstitutional. See Bud we are not all ignorant in this county as you like to think we are, we do understand a yay from a nay. Stay home, we don't need you to (not)defend us anymore, if we are going to elect someone then I expect them to actually do their job and take us into consideration and vote to our way of thinking and obviously that is not your concern at all, we already have a hard enough tie living, so demand more impossible demands on us, what is wrong with you?

Democrats: pro-choice, more gun control, more government power

Republicans: pro-life, less gun control, less government power

I guess I am a Republican too...Man my family would have a heart attack, since I am changing parties, but
I don't feel like can be a Democrat anymore.

Supports Bennett

Dear Editor:

Immigration Reform for Oklahoma Now supports John Bennett for House District #2 because John Bennett supports jobs for the American legal worker. I met John when he was a deputy at the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s office and discovered he was one of the few state law enforcers that actually arrested and charged coyotes with a crime after they were detained for traffic infractions. The goal of coyotes is to unload their human cargo here or states to the north and east for a price of $2,000-plus each.

Although Sequoyah County District Attorneys refused to prosecute these human traffickers, John did what he swore to do, protect the citizens of Sequoyah County by enforcing immigrations laws and placing “detainers” on them for the ICE agency. He honored his sworn statement.

Integrity is a trait not often seen in “old guard politicians,” and House District #2 has an opportunity in November to elect a man that will return integrity, credibility, honesty and budget spending transparency to that office because that is what John has always stood for.

John believes employers should hire legal Americans for jobs as required by our labor laws, not those who steal identities or commit income tax fraud to remain in the district. John will fight for taxpayers to end the income tax fraud practices of “wages under the table” for illegal immigrants.

John has more than proven he is a man of integrity and will honor his commitments to voters. A vote for John Bennett is a vote for a man of high moral character and a return to ethical, honest representation for citizens of House District #2.

I am voting for compassion. According to these posts about what republics believe and what democrats believe, I guess that makes me a liberal democrat. I believe in compassion for my fellow man. Vote democrat!

In one post it is said that "Rep's believe in less regulation and government interference. More flexibility in how to run business. Their beliefs stem from the christian religion." Another post says "they tend to believe more strongly in property rights and less strongly in well-fare right." Then again in that same post it says they have a general disapproval of abortions and, for some, gay marriage.

I find it funny that Rep's want to let business owners run their businesses as they please but when it comes to peoples personal lives, they want laws that tell people what they can and can't do. There's another post saying Rep's believe that the answers do not lay with the government generally, but rather with the people. It's got to be one way or the other.

YOU need to look up the definition of "compassion."
Anyone that believes in letting a little baby be partially born, then jab a hole in it's skull and then take a vacuum and suck the baby's brains out certainly has no compassion whatsoever.
And that is exactly what Bud Smithson voted for. Murderers.

Republican want less Gov't control, they do NOT believe in abortion, they believe we need to try and handle things our self without BIG Gov't stepping in, we believe in the right to bear arms, we believe marriage is between a man and a woman as GOD said, we believe that all illegals need to be shipped back to their own country, and that English is our only language, we also believe in Compassion, that is why we don't believe the Gov't needs to dictate to us what we can and can't do, buy, or say. That is a Republican's view. Broken down Barney style.

The time has come for each of us to claim our America.Speak up.Talk with your friends and enemies if you have to.We need change in the worse way.
John Bennett is the only person to speak his mind and never hesitates a moment to tell you where he stands.
We absolutely must elect those who are true Americans.
Some will tell you their grandfathers would roll over in their graves if they voted a Republican ticket, but hold on there a minute and I ask you, would your grandfather support abortions, gun control, illegal immigration and the list goes on? I can tell you there is no way he would.Take a good look and ask yourself is this really the beautiful world I once knew? Absolutely it is the same beautiful world, but it is the people who want the government to control every aspect of our lives that makes our country not so pleasant anymore.
Friends, make your vote count and support a true caring American, John Bennett, November 2.
Not sure it will help

but you already know the only way it could be worse is to continue the horrible state that the county is already in. From what I see, money is the motivating factor and whoever crosses the palm with the biggest payout gets the vote right now. Just saying...a change sure couldn't get any worse!

You said "we also believe in Compassion, that is why we don't believe the Gov't needs to dictate to us what we can and can't do, buy, or say." But then you say you want less government control. You are pushing for laws restricting people from doing just that. Who are you or I to say whether a person can marry the same sex, or have an abortion. I'm not saying I agree, but I believe in a persons right to choose. Only God can judge our actions. Not other people. If a person gets an abortion, they have to answer to God, not me or you. You know, murder is against the law, yet it still happens. If abortion is against the law, that doesn't mean its not going to happen. My point is, how can you hav less government control for one thing and expect it for another thing?
