Robert L. Gude, Sequoyah County D.A.R.E. Officer was arrested after having an accident where he was driving his 2013 pickup while drunk.

Way to go Robert, I knew you were a jerk years ago and this just put the word JERK in capital letters!

Well done Lockhart and the arresting deputy for doing your job. You very well could have saved someone's life getting him off the road.

It's great to know there are so many people that ate perfect in this county! Yes, it was an asinine thing to do, drinking and driving, but why are so many so quick to kick someone while they are down? Are your lives that miserable that you feel the need to spread it around? The man messed up, big time, and is facing the consequences. Is that not enough for you? Maybe we should put him in a public stockade to satisfy your need for humiliation?

He needs to be fired ASAP and never allowed to work in law enforcement again

How do you "ate perfect" ???

He is an adult and he should act like one and be treated like one, how many do overs you think a person needs? He WAS (probably no longer would be my guess)a D.A.R.E. Officer, damn the irony of the situation kinda just walks up an slaps you in the kisser, lol.

I'm just grateful he didn't kill anyone driving around drunk as a skunk.

When all else fails, attack on someone else's typos!

How is it any of you think you are in any position to judge this man? I don't understand how the general public so quickly forgets that officers are people too. They have spouses, kids, grandkids, neighbors, and best friends. They even have hardships like everyone else. But hey I know since they put on a badge and protect us lets throw dirt in their face when they make a mistake. He should have never put himself in that position but making a bad decision does not make you a bad person!

First of all he was NOT driving at the time of his arrest! So how can that be a DUI? Yes he screwed up but why drag him thru the mud? Grow the hell up & get a life. I'm sure you ALL have skeletons in your closets, would you like everyone to drag them out?

What difference does it make it he was driving or not? He needs to be fired!

The SCT reported that he resigned. Looks like he's holding himself accountable for his own actions.

When you are his age accepting the responsibility of a D.A.R.E. Officer, he has to be held at a higher standard because his actions effect so many more than his family and friends. His horrible example of adulthood will hurt every young person he has come in contact with because they will see him as a excuse to misbehave drink and drive, use drugs....after all everyone makes bad decisions or the other worn out phrase everyone makes mistakes.

I'm one who wished he hadn't been such a poor example to so many young people in our community and I wish he hadn't hurt his family and friends and lastly it unfortunate former Officer Gude decided drinking and driving was even an option putting his life and everyone on the road with him at huge risk. No excuses, no get out of jail card for free.

I agree with Judge Judy. Police Officers are human just like everyone else! They make mistakes just like all of you but the sad part is that when they make mistakes, big or small, the public feels the need to stomp on them when they are down! Officer Gude has taken responsibility for his actions which is more than I can say for most people & he never expected a "get out of jail free card" nor did he expect special treatment. It's pretty sad when people would rather trash a mans reputation instead of maybe starting a Topix discussion to help the Moore, OK victims. Shows the kind of world we live in. Just to be clear, I do not agree with the decisions that Officer Gude made the other night but I am not going to partake in trashing him.

And the reason you didn't start a thread for Moore? I already gave to the redcross.org/okc have you?

BTW, I don't start Topix threads. I hardly ever get on here. I was told by a friend about this thread & I happen to know Officer Gude. I'm the type of person that will let someone know if I have a problem with them, but I do it in a respectful way. I do it face to face or by phone. Not on a public forum! I feel like that's just people trying to start trouble.

Sound like you have the same problem Job had...self righteousness! Susan has just as much right to her opinion as you do.

This is still America Obama hasn't taken that away yet...only to certain reporters...but we can still speak opinions.
