When your bill goes from $180 the previous month to $500 the next there is reason to bitch.

Obviously something major changed if your bill is $180 one month and the next $500.

Time to make a big change in habits, discover improperly running/damaged equipment and if that's not the problem perhaps there is a "billing" problem!

Whatever the reason it should be addressed and corrected. I sure wouldn't want to pay more than what I had too for utilities. I think cost of living is ridiculous compared to what it was just 4 or 5 years ago. Can you say the word INFLATION?

I had them audit it and they said it was 96% accurate. Every year around January for the past 3 years it has been $500. My utilities bill has ranged from $140 to up to $500 and I haven't done anything differently. I live alone as well so there aren't kids and wife using lots of electricity. Explain to me how they come up with a bill going from $6 a day to $12.1 a day with no change in personal usage. I understand it was colder during January but my heat was set on 68.

I know why my bill went up...it was freaking cold in December for a while and my heat ran a lot...and i have a solid home. I can only imagine homes not insulated well or even trailer homes...then throw in some space heaters...that meter will turn fast.

maybe rest of you need to use some sense and think about how you used your power.

I have been in the lobby when it was packed full of people paying bills and the staff acted professional and answered everyone questions. Maybe some of the people posting crap on here need to learn how to deal with their issues and not act like your entitled to handouts.

Never mentioned anything about being entitled. Just find it weird. I understand that 99% of Sequoyah County feels entitled though.
