Geez Sallisaw is not that bad, look at all the good you have here, the parks, the area the people. Your town is in fairly good shape yes the jobs are lacking but don't give up on the town, the people make the town, and there are some great people here, they are not all bad some just are lost and don't know what to do or say they are looking for real leaders. Step up be part of the solution and quit being part of the problem lead follow or get the heck out of the way but don't drag us all down by your negative attidude.

You need to get out of Sallisaw for once in your life.
You mention the parks, the people, the area.
Do you call that piece of junked up mess a park?
You mention the area. I see nothing but a mostly trashed up run down overgrown with weeds neglected area.
As for the people. The majority are nothing but uneducated ignorant hill people, with no drive or ambition whatsoever.

I am so sick and tried of all the people that come on this forum and bash Sallisaw. I have been reading these forums for sometime now and I am tried of people running down our town. Sure it's not the most perfect place on earth but it's not the worst place either. I have been all over this great land of ours and I have seen a lot of trashy places and a lot of trashy people and Sallisaw is no where near as bad. Hell, all one has to do is pick up a Tulsa World and read about all the violence that goes on there every single day. What kind of violence do we have here? The occasional act of vandalism by a group of kids who's parents don't care what there kids are doing. The occasional shooting once in a blue moon. A drug bust from time to time. But we don't have the violence every single day. Sallisaw is a nice peaceful town full of good people. I have raised my kids here because I didn't want them going to one of the big city schools where we would have to worry about them getting beaten by a bully every day or one of them getting shot. I graduated from Sallisaw and have a Bachelors degree. All my children have graduate from Sallisaw and have gone on to collage. My oldest daughter has a Masters degree from Oklahome University and has a very successful job here in Sallisaw. So for you to say Sallisaw is full of uneducated hillbillies is a big fat lie. So, if you don't like Sallisaw then all I have to say is "KEEP THE HELL OUT.

You just showed how ignorant you really are. I live in Tulsa and Tulsa is one of the cleanest safest cities there is to live in. The part of Tulsa you are referring to where all the killings and bad things that take place, happen to be in the areas where the Blacks and the Mexicans live.
I grew up in Sallisaw but I left that slummy trashy place as soon as I got out of high school. There is no way in a million years would I subject my children to live in such a ghetto.
I have some family that still live in that ghetto and occasionally I go to Sallisaw to visit them. Sallisaw is still the same old trashy place it was when I grew up there. YOU can have Sallisaw. I prefer to live in a place that does not look like a tornado has just gone through the place.
Oh by the way, for your information, Sallisaw is known all over as being the Meth capital of the world. Sallisaw is also known as having the highest domestic violence cases in the state of Oklahoma. Sallisaw is also known as having the lowest paid wage paying jobs in the state of Oklahoma.
So tell me, what do you find in Sallisaw that you seem to think is so great?
One could not pay me enough money to live in that ghetto.

You have to be totally delusional to say Tulsa is one of the cleanest and safest places to live. The crime rate in Tulsa is 3 times the national average. All one has to do is go to the Tulsa Police web site and you will see that so far there has been 42 murders, 186 rapes, 670 robberies, 2012 aggravated assaults, 4213 burglaries, 9513 larcenies, and 1386 auto thefts and that's just this year alone. It's not even the end of the year yet so we know these numbers will go higher. And we won't even get into the meth problem Tulsa has. Then you say these crimes only happen where the Blacks and Mexicans live. Well that makes you a racist to imply these are the only 2 groups of people committing these crimes. You are absolutely correct about Sallisaw being the Meth capital. The domestic violence is through the roof! Not only is the pay rate the lowest, there are no jobs here. I can not wait to leave this place and give my family a better life. I only moved here because my husband's family is here and we needed to be here. It is a horrible place to live and raise a family .
