It's a free country "Sallisaw Resident" so I respect your vote, however, I do disagree with your comment and I will vote for Mr. Bennett. It is time for some new leadership!

Thanks "Digging in". I also respect your vote too. We all have our reasons for voting or not voting for someone. I am glad you respectfully disagreed instead of the way alot of other people that disagree would have, which could have been quite disrespectful.

I wonder what needs a change that everyone is asking for, I think Smithson is doing very well, and he has never lied to my family and helped when he could... GO BUD!

We should vote out ALL incumbents, especially Democrats! Bud is as liberal as they come! If you dont belive me call the capitol or go online and look at his voting record. He is in the TOP 10% of liberal voters! He is just as bad as the Washington Dems! Im a Democrat but more importantly I am a CONSERVATIVE and I do not want another LIBERAL in office. Not a personal strike against "Bud" just stating the facts!

I would not vote for Bud Smithson. He believes in partial birth abortion and to me that is murder.

You people in Sequoyah County sit and whine because the county doesn't grow and you want to put the blame on everything but where the true blame belongs. As long as you keep voting for the same old corrupt, lazy, worthless, good for nothing imbeciles that is in office now, then don't expect any change for the good. It is all going to be downhill. Bud Smithson is a worthless hypocritical imbecile. It is time people faced reality.

Well, I am certainly not voting for John Bennett so i guess that only leaves me with one other choice. I would rather put up with what we already have than to put Bennett in office.

I am curious. I have been told John Bennett is a republican but I don't ever see or hear what political party he is affiliated with. Does this mean he is embarassed about his political affiliation? I would like to have an honest answer about this.

I am a Republican and proud of it. It is certainly better than being a mooching welfare Democrat. Vote Bennett.

I do not appreciate your comment to my question. I asked if Mr. Bennett is a republican because I had been told that he was but I could not see anywhere thast he claimed to be a republican. I am not interested in your political persuasion, I am interested in Mr. Bennett. Unless you have proof as to Mr. Bennett's political party, then I am not interested in your rude comments.

Well, I found the answer of Mr. Bennett's political affiliation. This was taken from the Sequoyah County Times Newspaper:

"The caption on a photo published in the March 11 edition of Your TIMES incorrectly identified the political party of a candidate for the State House of Representatives.

The caption should have reported that John Bennett of Sallisaw is a Republican candidate for the office.

Your TIMES apologizes for any inconvenience this error may have caused."

This democrat will vote democrat.

Even though I am pro-life, common sense tells me there are times when abortion at any stage is sometimes necessary to preserve the mother's life. There are other instances as well, such as young girls who are victims of rape or incest. I stand behind the right for abortion when necessary. I don't really expect you to understand this since you have obviously made a comment/decision on only partial information. Perhaps you should check into the bill in it's entirety before you judge. I remain by my decision to vote democrat. Representative Smithson, do you need any help campaigning? NONONO just helped me realize there are people in this area that need to be educated on issues affecting all of us.

I have a question for you NONONO, what is your opinion on Roe vs. Wade?

I agree with you questioning. I also believe that it is wrong to call or assume someone to be a "baby killer" just because they are preserving the rights of women to make a choice. I personally don't approve of abortion but, like you, I believe that there are certain circumstances that it can be understandable and acceptable.

I do have different reasons for making my vote though. I will be voting for Smithson.
