Really??? The Mayors Daughter?!?!? Come on, Shannon is fair game, but his children are off limits!! Sheesh....kids are gonna be kids, and yes they make bad decisions sometimes as we as adults do....no matter what you think of his job as mayor, I can tell you, he and his wife and family are good people and I am sure are handling this situation the way they deem fit! I'm not on a side between Shaloa and the city, but get off the kids!!!!!

If you think underage drinking is ok there is something wrong with you as well. I don't care whose kid it is, they need to be punished so they will learn its wrong. Shame on you!

Kids are the ones doing the drinking. Parents needed to be made aware of this and they were.

Are we talking about Shannon Vann's daughter? As a Christian myself, I will pray for the family and hope any Christians here do so also. God can change this situation and lead our city in a good way. All we have to do is pray.

They were punished too harshly in my opinion! They did not deserve to be woke up, handcuffed, not allowed to put shoes on, put in police cars, taken to jail, stripped searched, parents called, fines paid. I think they learned their lesson!
Whoever is low enough to put Shannon's daughters name on here should be ashamed!

Nope. I didn't leave an IOU and steal furniture. Tell me how stupid is it to have a fifty thousand dollar a year job and have to take petty cash from city to buy lunch. A forgotten fact in this is it went months without being paid back. Either way. Law says it is a felony
excuse me has he been charged and I think an IOU is not stealing, and a felony is $500 or more. not gonna happen. But what did happen js the city broke the law and Chief got his job back, and as the topic we are on, she is a child, yes it's wrong but that is what kids do, not a wise decision, but it happens and every family deals with teenage drama, not saying it's ok, but it happens.

It was public funds. So you get a clue. And it's a felony

Yes it did happen. I'm sure it wasn't printed in the SCT. She is the mayors daughter.

So you people truly believe its ok to send an 18 year old over seas to fight and die for our country but think its a big deal for them to have a get together and drink on private property where they are covered by the same 4th amendment of the Constitution many people under 21 have died fighting to defend. Sounds to me like you are a sorry excuse for a patriot.
Why don't you get over yourself. No sane person wants their child drinking when underage.

I've read this entire thread and Im amazed at the people in our community. The lead is Mayors daughter arrested for consumption / drunk. It appears the only post here who has a clue to the truth is Mom. None of the 5 were arrested for public intoxication because they weren't. They were only charged with possession of alcohol. There are two charges under Oklahoma statute for this violation: title 21 sec 1215 only applies in a public place or highway (which they weren't ) and title 37 sec 246 which could apply but that charge is not a jailable offense, it carries $300 fine and/or community service. Now the owner of the home is 21 yoa and can legally have alcohol. The others were between 18-20 and were not only arrested from a private residence but jailed on a charge which does not have the possibility of incarceration. They were also required to spend 4 hrs in jail before they could post bond or pay fines to be released. I question why they were required to detox in jail when there's no mention of intoxication or charge for such.
If you think I'm wrong on this take a trip to the PD and check for yourself, it's public record.
Each of those young people should seek legal council and file a civil rights lawsuit against the chief, the night supervisor and the female officer for violating their rights against unlawful incarceration (4th Ammendment).

Since she's the mayors daughter nothing should be done. I hardly think so. What if they would have been driving had a wreck and killed someone? Would have it been ok then. How stupid are you?
