My heart goes to Richard Veil who now has learned that Anina was indeed his very own daughter.

Thank goodness McLish is finally being charged in this. I knew both Asha and McLish from the store. She was a total sweetie pie, he was a creep and I had avoided him for years. I knew he was the killer from the moment I heard he had been arrested on the other charges. I am so grateful this predator has been removed from our community...it gives me the willies to think he was living among us for so long preying on young women...

Arrested does not mean proven guilty. "Innocent until proven guilty", is the way we should think. You people already made up your mind a long time ago! How can he get a fair trial now? He does not look psycho, he looks like he is trying not to cry. He has aged years since I saw him before all this started.
My kids and I looked forward to seeing him at the market. His big smile and helpful nature, always whistling a happy tune at work or back in our school days. I miss him and will keep praying for him and his family.

The press had him convicted before and during his first trial. All through that they continued to point out the Veil murder, thereby connecting him to it even when they had no proof.

I don't know what happened. If he did it, he will pay.

But, stop and think a moment. What if the bad press is what got him convicted and now charged. There was no real evidence in the first trial. Just circumstantial. And jurors convicted him because they though he was arrogant. What if all that spilled over into this new charge? While so many want to hate him, justice would be better served with the truth. Whatever that turns out to be.

Yeah OMG....that comment is a sweeping generalization and not appropriate....and jeffreynewell dont get all butt hurt because you are white and racist to boot, gimme a break.

I know he has yet to be proven guilty in court....but the evidence seems plain to me...who comes at someone with an axe "just to scare them a little"...you know psycopaths are real good at making people think they are perfect and nice, but the truth is they will say anything to anyone to get what they want. Look back at his old mug photo and tell me he doesnt look psycho.

You make an excellent point. I know from first hand experience with the press that the whole story isn't always presented. There is so much more that the public NEVER finds out about for various reasons...enough said about that.

I agree with Goldfish. All we know has been spooned fed to us by the press. What really happened God knows and will deal with, who are we to judge him? Let him stand trial for the charges, let all the evidence be heard. Then by jury of his peers let THEM decided if he is guilty of the crime he is charged with. Don't convict the man without any evidence or simply because he looks like a "psycho" for the time it takes to snap a picture. Jeez people.

It was smart of the DA and Sheriff to investigate, charge, and convict this suspect with a charge they COULD prove, since that gave them time for a (hopefully) complete investigation of this case.

With so much local press coverage (not a bad thing), do not be surprised if the defense attorney petitions for a change of venue.

We will still be able to read about the trial online and in the newspaper.

I knew Asha a little bit. She was a very sweet girl. I last spoke to her about a week before she disappeared. She was so excited to be having a baby girl. What a waste of two beautiful lives.

Obviously you didn't attend the trial for even one day...at one point he stated on a recording that he drew the hatchet on the victim but that he was only trying to f with her head. He should never have insisted to testify. He was his own worst enemy, stupid is as stupid does..

I have delivered to the market. The whole back end of the store is such a contrast to the image they try to project in the front.

Like 'Shut your hole and stand in line you stupid delivery guy' kind of attitude.

It just feels really wierd and hostile. The employees are not exactly treated politely by managment.

The fruit doesn't fall too far from the tree.

And once again a murder victim is lost in the news...as her story will also once again make it to the last page.....and the Prosecutor who wants to be a judge...uses this for votes...and all victims of sexual assault (and in this case a double homicide too)...also lose...nobody wins...but clearly McClish is what prisons are built for...violent predators/killers like him.....

Actually, Sunshine, the jury was his own worst enemy. You're right that he shouldn't have testified. The jury convicted because they thought he was arrogant. Not based on any hard evidence. They didn't like the guy. And that's no surprise considering the the sensationalized, slanted, negative press he got from day one.

Once again, if he is guilty, so be it. But this entire judicial process was not carried out the way it should have been. This is worth considering.
