CHP, deputies add to violence-ending effort in Salinas

A surge in gang-related violence in Salinas in the past 12 days has left seven people dead and six others injured: July 27: At 11 p.m., police find Roy Simon Ramirez, 28, of Salinas dead in the driveway of an apartment complex in the 500 block of San Benito Street with gunshot wounds to his torso.
