I would like to see our post office remain. If a town of this size can't retain a post office, there's something wrong with the way we're doing things. Not to mention we'll be putting a lot of hard working carriers out of work.

The US Postal service has priced itself out of business. Poor management, slow response to changing conditions, and overpaid double-dipping employees.
Have you tried UPS charges? Or Fex-Ex?
The Post office is Cheap and with good service..You have no idea what your saying...

Poor management? Certainly, along with Congressional interference. Lack of response to a changing market? That's limited by Congressional action. Overpaid? Walk a mile in their shoes, or maybe 15-20 miles and then we'll talk. But, more importantly, please clarify what you mean by "double-dipping". Or, did you just include that for impact without really knowing it's meaning?

Good 4 u. Now, you leveled the allegation. So, please clarify what you meant by postal workers double dipping. I know several employees of the postal service and they all earn their paychecks just like the rest of us.

Even though it did get moved, I have to say we have one of the best post offices in the country! I mail 10-30 packages each weak, mostly 1st Class Packages, and they are quick to scan update tracking etc. Extremely friendly & friendly!
If you don't think so, go to Tulsa or Dallas and you'll learn to love our Salina Kansas USPS!
My only 2 complaint would be the black caddy that parks up at the front to walk into his/her office door since it's closest. Yes you might have been working there for years, but the Post Office is still a business and that takes a spot for customers. Especially those that are disabled but aren't handicap.
The other is that they could paint the lines, it's been years since it's been done and we all know how some Salina folk park. One care means one space, not two, sideways, etc.
