Storm could be largest since '83
The first round of a winter storm had left less than 2 inches of snow on the ground by about 6 p.m. Wednesday, but the main storm is expected to dump an additional 15 inches on Salina by the end of the day today.

Why is this city such a miserable failure at clearing snow from the streets? Four foot high piles of snow in the middle of every street downtown? They clear Broadway, but leave the turn lanes six inches deep in slush, snow and ice? They salt intersections on side streets, but only in one direction? Yes, we got a lot of snow, but not nearly as much as anticipated and they do this badly no matter how much snow we get.
