Places not to eat

I can tell you one place not to eat would be the DQ. I used to love the Dairy Queen but recently they have went down hill. The food is either chared to a crisp or raw. If you even recieve what you ordered. The owner and his wife seem to be MIA. When they were there supervising the food was much beeter. Hopefully they will turn up again or I will no longer frequent the place.

I went to Salem College in the 70's. There was a pizza place on Main Street, it was just across the street from the east end of the campus. I think the name was Tony's Pizza.

Is Tony's still there? As I remember, it was fairly good pizza on a college student's budget!

I'm also remembering a place downtown called Moore's Restaurant? I ate there a lot, too!

What about the Tiger's Inn (or perhaps it was the Tiger's Den?) It was on the east end of town and was a college hang out. Although I think it was less frequented for the food than for the beer and pool tables. Only got out there a couple of times, as I didn't have a car.

I am sure that most of the places I went to are closed now....as it's been over 30 years since I graduated from Salem College!

The Tiger Inn burned down several years ago.
The best place in town to eat used to be Mario's, then the name was changed to King's. They are now located in Rosebud & still have the same great food!

ok i love the dairy queen the management is great the food is always right and i cant imagine why anyone would say anything bad about it. i've never had an order wrong and i love how local it is. Everyone that works there is very nice and polite. whenever i come in the owner is always there, except im pretty sure she is married to a man ;]i mean god she already works there 6 days a week, how could you miss her. Plus its seriously the cleanest place in salem. its honestly the only place i trust to eat at.

I agree with the last post on the Dairy Queen. I eat there almost everyday and my food has never been raw or chared. I seriously think they have the BEST cooks in town because the food is wonderful. The service is always fast and their workers are very hard workers, and beautiful too! But for the record if you come to Salem and you want a good meal and great service..Go to the DQ because They Treat You Right! ;)

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!You obviously don't know anything about the Salem Dairy Queen.I have been going there for at least 12 yrs.Never have I received chared or raw food. And about NOT getting your order the right way....WHAT!!!?People need to realize that even though they are GREAT people the workers there do make mistakes but they are quick to make it right. And about the owners being MIA...they have both been working other jobs for years. They were both hardly ever there and when they were they were MIA.Nothing is ran any different than it ever was.Pretty much the same GREAT girls doing a WONDERFUL job!!!

Frank may be a little different but you don't need to bash him for it. He still has the best food and portions for the price in this town.

The DQ has good food also and Zippy is a very good person. I do belive that their burgers may not be as good as they used to be but that is because they are at the mercy of the franchise as to what they have to serve. It has nothing to do with the staff or management.

It's clear that nobody has a chance with you, if a persons opinion differs from yours, they must be an idiot huh. By the way burger, drink and fries at CC comes to right around $10.00. A little pricey.
