It's about time! Maybe the local police departments could do the same thing. Time to look past the fair haired white boys for a change!

As long as they don't lower the standards to get a few more through the course. Political correctness has a price, and we all know who ultimately pays for it.

I haven't had a ticket since 1977 (knock on wood) but I can't think of anything sexier than some good looking girl in a uniform giving me a ticket. I like this idea! Bozo Bob on the other hand is waiting to see which way the tide swings on this issue before commenting. That "flip flopping" he's been doing lately is catching up with the ole flip flopper himself!

The standards have to be lowered for females. They have less upper body strength.

So if your'e a male , don't apply ? Their would be total outrage if any public organization ran an ad asking for white males only .

Willie Morris kept women off his team when he was sheriff in Greene County by making the standard, THE STANDARD. If a women couldn't match the physical requirement, they were not eligible to apply for anything but the dispatcher positions. The State police want it both ways, they want the respect of a job description that sounds tough, but allows for the reality that they write tickets, and direct traffic. Duties that most females can do equally as well.

I am so mad at the state police. They come out and say they are looking for women, but nothing about midgets. You never see a midget trooper. I have been overlooked for too long, hire me I am a proud midget.

See ... I don't know ... I know we have a higher center of gravity, which makes that "chin-up" B.S. a b*tch, but some of us "corn-fed" gals are pretty strong (and pretty proud of it!).

I'm sure the female liberal contingent is cringing, knowing you are on their side...

I know one they can have. She's a little short, but that shouldn't matter.

correction:The standards should be Modified, not lowered. Men and women are built differently, but can still accomplish the same feats. It might just be in a different manner.

Yes, I know. A 5'4" 130 pound female trooper can talk a 6'6" 300 pound beligerant drunk into handcuffing himself at 3::00 a.m. and getting into the car without any trouble at all. A male can't.

I fully support this initiative, because it will then take 2 cops to write a speeding ticket. I saw a female State trooper in Ruckersville giving a ticket and there was a Greene County deputy there on site, blocking the right hand lane with his cruiser to ensure her safety on the roadside while writing that ticket. I don't blame him, she was a hot, well built blonde.
