Anyone know anything about the reports of Jessica Sparks and her husband Daniel Reeves being detained by out of county law enforcement due to a 'domestic' involving a weapon?

I heard about that too. I wonder why this is not mentioned on EOTC? They pushed for her to win and now you don't hear anything from them. Some friends!! Seems her paranoia caught up with her. Wonder if she was on "something"? Heard he is just as bad emotionally as she is. What a pair.

This is just the latest in off the wall behaviour on Jessica's part that's taken place in Crawford County. She's also been reported as attempting to buy ammunition from convenience stores and their customers stating that she had to get some ammo before court!!!!! If these escapades don't start ringing the warning bell and raising a BIG red flag to higher ups I don't know what will. Do we have to wait before some unfortunate soul is harmed before action is taken to remove her from our midst? I should hope not.

I wonder how the Maxwell's feel about Jessica now? After all, they sure didn't like Jim Gray over their son's misfortune, so they backed Jessica. Looks to me like we all would have been better off sticking with Jim Gray. Revenge is sometimes not the answer.

The problem is that she can't just be fired. It will take, as the county commissioners said, a recall vote. To get that you have to have a valid recall petition signed by 1/3 of the *registered voters* in Dent County and that has to be done within 30 days.
So, if ya'll don't want her, you need to do the research and get that petition going and signed and done properly.
Then a recall election is held. Then the people of Dent county can fire her that way. But as an elected official, that's the only way.
Or, she could resign out of total and absolute embarassment but that's not likely.

Ok, this is killing me. Does anyone have the details on what the "domestic" was about? I mean, they don't live there so did she and her husband get into a public argument where a weapon was brandished? Or, did they both get into it with relatives/friends at someone's home?

But, most of all, did this involve her no-permit-required concealed carry?

Ok, I just googled recall again and got different results. I think the best approach would be to talk to the county election board. They will have to hold any recall election anyway so might as well get their guidance.

'Course if the woman gets disbarred that might make things go quicker. I don't know what criminal convictions would cause that but I'm betting she gets herself in that mess soon enough and all by herself.

Hmmm, wonder if disbarment would cause her ouster from office? She couldn't actually prosecute cases anymore but her assistant still could. <shrugs>

I voted for her, and I'm Republician, but like I said I can admit it was a big mistake. I like Jim Gray also, but he did some of the very things himself he was prosecuting others for. Thats why I didn't vote for him, it wasn't about revenge at all. If you spent any time at the city softball fields you will know what I'm talking about. That being said, he was a lot better than what we have now, but who knew. I feel the Neil Maxwell's case was botched up by local law enforcement not Jim Gray, they didn't give him a lot to work with. And I think also, we need that recall election. Just about anything would be better than what we have now. Maybe we can talk William Camm Seay into coming back, I thought he did a great job.

William Camm Seay is our Presiding Circuit Judge and I doubt the office of Prosecuting Attorney is something he would consider.

DDCC investigated the Maxwell case and the State Attorney General's office prosecuted it. Iron County juries are notorious for finding those accused of murder from Dent County not guilty. Example: They found Darrell McDonald not guilty in the murder of Kip Gaddy as well as letting Brian Brooks off the hook in Neils murder.

Now, that just fascinates me.

I've always heard that juries around here always consider folks guilty until proven innocent instead of the way the law says it should be.

What gives? Is murder the ok crime but anyone accused of anything else is guilty? Or is it just an Iron County thing?

Camm Seay isn't running for judge again, hes running for prosecutor in the county he lives in now. He lives in Steelville it may be Iron county not for sure. The crime scene had done been disturbed and messed up by local and state before DDCC arrived. Kinda like cattle stomping through a field. We just don't have the resources of the big cities. I wasnt sure where the trial was at, but for some reason I was thinking it was in KC. Guess I was thinking about the JoAnn Barnes case.

Whatever the case its a shame we couldn't convict whoever did it, Neil was a good person, just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Camm may have been joking or just having a bad day. I wouldn't want his job, I think he is a good judge as well.

The murder trial of Earl Forrest was held in the KC area...Platte County. He was on trial for the murders of Deputy JoAnn Barnes, Michael Wells and Harriet Smith. The Platte County jury found him guilty and he received three death penalties.

I agree Neal was a good person and his death has left a void in the community.

Steelville is the county seat of Crawford County. Their current prosecutor is one of the best I have seen in action in the courtroom.

Dent County juries are rough on child molestation cases whether they are Dent County cases or change of venue cases. To bad our current prosecuting attorney recently refused to file charges in a rape case as well as on one sex offender that failed to register as required by state statute.

We really need that recall election....in the worst way. Offenders joke about our 'non'prosecuting attorney and aren't the least bit intimidated.

I agree 100% I would be in favor of capitol punishment for child molesters just like murder if they are guilty beyond any doubt. They should at least be neutered, with a very dull insturment, maybe it would take away the drive and ability to do such horrible acts of crime.

The pressure that was put on the Prosecutor's Office frm the minute Jessica was elected, was unbelievable. The liberal rag calling itself The Salem News, has had nothing but negative and largely untrue comments about her, and the job she is doing. We, her friends, are behind her all the way. If she is sick right now, we want to help her get well. She is a terrific person, who did not deserve the bad press, she received, not only from the newspaper, but from the judges and the two previous county commissioners in this
town. Godspeed Jessice and Dan, our prayers are with you all the way.[

conservatives like her can't be trusted these days. Look at Dick Cheney on the air all the time. He looks sinister. As far as the Salem News being liberal. I don't see that either.
