Just got home from Country Mart while putting my groceries away I noticed the Orange Juice I bought had an expiration date of May 16, 2011. Last week I bought a roll of sausage came home cut it open and nearly gagged from the stench. In the past I have gotten molded baked goods and other rotten meats. I would love to keep my money local but since Wayne insist on selling rotten food I guess Wal-Mart will get my food dollar from now on. Enough is enough.

If you contacted Wayne he would handle it. Stock crews are the responsible for rotating stock. How can the problem if they are not informed.

Yeah, they are bad on selling bad food.
When ever you see a good sale, its probably bad or expired. when they had Cream Cheese 2/$1.00 it was all 2 or 3 weeks expired.
another thing you have to look at the date on there is the tortilla shells. Ive seen some 2 or 3 months expired.
Wayne HAS to know this is going on

I think another problem is that they leave the frozen foods just sit in the aisle while they run of and do something else. Ive seen boxes of rozen foo that was derosted and warm..

the same happens in ellington at town n country. you have to look at everything you buy, because if not you will get outdated food. it is ridiculous that this continues to happen. someone needs to call the health department about these problems

I have brought it to Waynes attention. In fact one day I bought a sugar free pie. Got it home it was molded. Took it back Wayne as usual was hanging in the bakery area so I showed him. He and I looked on the shelve and found 6 more molded ones. He went to the back brought me one and it also was molded. HE KNOWS

Wayne needs to hire some people who actually needs jobs, people who actually clean that store. There is parts in that store where its so nasty it almost makes you want to go puke. like behind some shelves. there is one over by one of the frozen food freezers, and these are not places where you have to bend down and look, they are right there...

So, instead of giving jobs to all these high schoolers and their slacking friends, why not give somebody a job that would actually help.

Dont get me wrong some great and nice people work there. like the cashier Ben, and the lady with short curly red hair.. The blonde at the service desk..

Oh, please. I've been there, picked up a loaf a bread, seen the mold on it and told them. I actually saw them put it back on the shelf.

Sounds to me that maybe the health department needs to be notified about this. There are to many complaints about rotten/molded products being sold there and Wayne has no attention to fix this problem. Wonder if he was aware that some molds in baked goods can produce Anaphylaxis shock in some people who are with weak immune systems, the elderly and children.

I doubt if the Health Dept. is called anything would happen, since he is Wayne Gott. Good ole wonderful Wayne Gott would never knowingly do this so they will just make him take all the bad stuff of the shelf. Well that is until they leave atleast

I was at Country Mart 2 days ago to buy my Mother some buttermilk. I wound up having to go to Wal-Mart because there was not a single carton on the shelf at Country Mart that was not out of date. Wayne needs to spend more time checking out what is going on in his store instead of just concentrating on the buns in the bakery.

I bought some chocolate milk from there that hadn't expired according to the date on the bottle. Got it home and it was spoiled already. They change the dates on the cakes in the deli so they can leave them on the shelf longer. The 5 for $25 meat sale.... you would have to be nuts to purchase that crap. I will not buy dairy products or deli items from country mart but they have the best produce selection in town. Wal-mart produce totally sucks. Just like Frustrated said "Wayne does spend waaaay too much time checking out the buns in the deli when he should be checking the expiration date on his store items"!!

Actually the only other place in Salem to buy groceries is Wal-Mart. As Hell Yeah pointed out Country Mart does have great produce. The fresh meats pork, beef are also superior to Wal-Mart's. Dick Gordon pretty much assures that. However meats that come to them frozen chicken, sausage I would never buy at Country Mart. Would just be nice to have a store in town where with confidence one could buy anything.

We like the produce at Country Mart. The produce at Wal-Mart isn't as nice and spoils quickly. We prefer to buy our meat at the Kroger in Rolla because it's better but they also have great sales, particular on steaks. We frequently get nice ribeyes there for around 5 bucks a pound. We also prefer their whole chickens. Those are generally under a buck a pound. It becomes worth the drive very quickly. What we buy at Wal-mart are the packaged things like cereal and canned items like tomatoes when I've run out of the stuff we grow and can ourselves. For fancy bread and olives, parmesan cheese, etc we eiter go to St Louis or get it when we are in Columbia or Jeff city and freeze what will freeze to minimize trips. Oh, eggs are organic, free range from friends. I can't imagine ever buying everything in one place. Heck, I didn't do that when I lived in the city!
