Why are so many Americans ready to give up rights? It scares me to my core. Many Americans have served in our Military, and to give up rights is a slap in our faces. I bet congress and the civilians would not be so quick to tear the constitution up, if they had put their lives on the line for that wonderful document.

What if I said you do not have an opinion, unless you have served in the Military. Doesn't feel very good does it civilians. When I watch Congress and civilians trash the constitution, I get bad, bad feelings.

I swore to protect and defend the people of this country, why not start acting like people worthy of defending. Knowing what I know now, I would have never joined.

Start living like intelligent humans, instead of people the founding father's would be ashamed of.

Ben Franklin has a quote something like this, "For those that would give up Liberty for a little safety, deserve neither Liberty or safety"

To me, if people want to change the constitution, first they should lose citizenship then deported.

Not really. Americans have the right to change the bill of rights and the amendments. It's a living document...

I love the liberal terminology of.. "its a living document" if its "alive" and NOT static.. it isnt worth the paper its printed on..

Ergo, if we as a nation give up or relinquish any portion of our rights.. a portion of the 2nd here.. some of the 5th here or 4th there.. then what good is any of it..

Rights were and are as concieved by the founding fathers as inaleinable rights (meaning they cannot be bought, sold or transferred).. I cite:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government...

so you see.. we are /were endowed with these rights by the creator.. not by men or anyone man..

and the first 10 amendments to the constitution are called the bill of rights.. for a reason.. period..

They (our rights) however seem to be observed only when its convienent for the govt. and lib-idiots and it suits their nefarious ends..

The post-constitutional era.. that lib-prog-sec demagogues crave.. will be no easy chore.. still too many true freedom understanding/loving americans in the way..

LOL wow, I don't even want to argue this... I don't care what anyone says, you (we) can amend the bill of rights (or any other part of the constitution) how we see fit. It takes a hell of a lot of work, but if the 3/4, majority or what have you all agree, well then that's that. It's overused but look at the first amendment and the shouting "fire!" in a crowded theater. Everyone seems pretty cool with the idea of certain forms of banned speech.

yes, it can be amended, but who I'm their right mind would want to give up rights?

The Creator give us rights too, one is protection of body and family. Try amending His Bill of Rights. What I use to protect me and my family is nobody's concern. Its between me and whoever wishes me harm, I feel sorry for whoever tries.

A like button would be nice on here!!!
