This is an awesome idea, with the exception that all proceeds that are made that day off of food or drink should be donated to Chris's kids. If it is not then it is not a good idea. NO ONE who calls themselves Chris's friends should make any money off of this horrible accident! Just say!

I completely agree! If the horseshoe is planning on holding a memorial, I hope they are planning on donating all of the profit to the memorial fund! If they do not and they decide to rack in money from this tragedy, it shows what kind of people they are and that they were no friends of Chris'. He was a kind, gentle, giving and loving soul. He deserves to be remembered as such. He doesn't deserve to become someone's way of "raking in the dough." I guess we will see. Will Donnie and Donna show Dent county their heart, or their horns? Time will tell!

This is happening today after the funeral. I have noticed that the horseshoe has not said anything about them donating the proceeds. This would be a disgrace if they don't!

Does anyone know what they have decided to do? I want to go and honor Chris but will not allow this place to take my money and profit from this. I will only go and support this if the money will be put into the memorial fund.

How about instead of "asking", aka gossiping, about The Horseshoe's intentions on the matter, why don't you people just call them up and ask them where the proceeds are going? You're all making it sound like they have already decided to "profit off someone's death", without the slightest clue as to what they actually intend to do. Way to shine a negative light on something that should be a meaningful event for friends and family... You should be really proud of yourself!

Thank you Horseshoe for the use of your establishment for all of us to have a place to get together and remember the times we have had with Chris!!!!

I agree but if this is so, why don't they say it, so people know. From what I read no one is saying anything negative about Chris, they are just wondering why the Shoe has not said where the proceeds are going, that's all! If everything is the way it should be, you should not be getting angry!

I am sure this could have been done anywhere! I am sure Tommy at Tater Patch would have done it and said up front where the proceeds were going! Why so secretative??? There's no reason for that! May Chris "Rest in Peace" and this be done the way it should.

The proceeds from the cd is going to the fund for his boys. It says nothing about the proceeds for today at the horseshoe. If you look a little closer, someone else posted that, not the horseshoe! You need to read that post again!

nothing against you guys, and i didn't know chris at all and god bless the family through their loss, but, you all are downing the horseshoe and this isn't right, i'm sure they are not profitting from chris. There is a reason their doing this, Everyone on here that is bad mouthing the horseshoe is the reason you can't get no one to do this kind of thing for the family. I'm sure a big amount will go to the kids or the family, but, they do have to pay for the food and drinks also. They do alot of these fund raisers for alot of dealths or ill people. So give them a break.

that's the problem here, everyone says "oh give them a break" and they expect you to say that! No one is bashing the shoe, but they need to be more respectful than this. They make enough money that if Chris was their good friend like they say, then donating all the proceeds today shouldn't matter! I know they pay for food and drink, but for this one day, you mean to tell me they couldn't! Unbelieveable!

Name one Bar that would do this for nothing, all bars would take out their costs,a small bar can not do this it would take their operating costs for 2-4 weeks.

I hope he had life insurance for his family. If you have children still living at home or a spouse that is counting on you then you need to be responsible and have insurance that helps if you have a tragic event. We have to be responsible for ourselves and not count on the generosity of others.

I think Tommy would have done it and I could name a few others also. NO ONE should profit off of these kinds of things. Do like most people do, have it at someone's house, everyone bring a dish and whatever they are drinkin (if that's what you think you need to do) and "jam" or do whatever else. When you own more than one business and like to tell everyone about it, then the costs should not have mattered!

The horseshoe said we could bring food and our own drinks, but everyone wanted to eat there good food and drinks, why dont you guys get a life.the horseshoe has already donated money to the boys account,If its anyones business,You guys need to get the real story, before you guys get on here, and put good people down, all of chris's friends asked to have it at the horseshoe, because we knew thats where chris would want it.and its what chris would of wanted,so dont you worry about the horseshoe, they help alot more people out than what you think...Thank you....we love you chris...RIP

Golly....... I hate to see you think this way, and maybe you should open a business up like the horseshoe and do this one night and see if you could afford the drinks and the food. I hate to say this, and it isn't against you, but, come on they are giving a part of the pay to chris family. I'm not gonna be mean or rude to you, cause believe me i can see were your coming from, but you need to see were the business is coming from.... I don't see brick house doing something.. or any other business, i know someone said the potatoe patch would give all the profit to the family, well i don't see nothing about them doing a benifit for the family, they are going with the horse shoe, with the disks making them and all the profit is going to the family which is really nice. So just be thankful that the horsehoe is doing this and giving to the family that is a good thing. But like i said above god bless the family and the kids, and i pray they can find comfort. And i'm sure the family is thankful with what the horseshoe is doing for chris.

That has to be the stupidest thing anyone could have said! Whatever makes you sleep at night! Since when would you want to put money in their pocket instead of your own! Chris would have wanted something like at his house, jammin in his basement! Tell that bullshit to someone who wants to believe that! You werent the only one there you know!
