An AR 15 is not ab assault weapon.. A assault weapon is a continuous firing weapon.. Not a weapon where you have to keep pulling the trigger- Don't let the government control us anymore than they already do.. Stay away from my gun rights.

3 weeks ago it was mentioned here that the gun used in Newton wasnt an assault weapon. The media finally admits it wasn't. Wonder what took so long and why the confusion? I mean really, how the hell do they think they could ban something our government apparently can't even identify...

Any instance where the ACLU would clash with the ultra liberal, ultra politically correct Obama administration is worth taking note of. This is a chilling document,” said Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director of the ACLU

No courts, no charges, no nothing. And you dems and liberal fools want us to lay down our arms? Seriously, if ever there was a time for the people in the countryto make damn sure the power remains with the people then that time is now.

A confidential Justice Department memo concludes that the U.S. government can order the killing of American citizens if they are believed to be “senior operational leaders” of al-Qaida or “an associated force”— even if there is no intelligence indicating they are engaged in an active plot to attack the U.S.

This is a chilling document,” said Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director of the ACLU, which is suing to obtain administration memos about the targeted killing of Americans.“Basically, it argues that the government has the right to carry out the extrajudicial killing of an American citizen.… It recognizes some limits on the authority it sets out, but the limits are elastic and vaguely defined, and it’s easy to see how they could be manipulated.”

I could imagine this scenario. "Yes we killed him. Why, you ask? That's a matter of national security. We don't discuss matters of national security all I can say is he had sent some emails and had some other contacts, the specifics I cannot get in to at this time".

You're dead. Sure, some journalist somewhere might continue digging. There might be an investigation. There may even be a court case heard. Of course Holder's justice department would just delay it indefinitely and refuse to appear or provide the court ordered documentation (you think that's an invalid scenario? They've been doing it now for over two years in the fast and furious gun fiasco with total impunity).

Six or seven years later you may even get your "justice" and a court somewhere will find you were unjustly killed by the drone that blew your heard off while you were sunning on Beach 6. Obama will be out of office, although of course it won't be him that is found culpable anyway, itwilljust be some low level grunt. Even if it were him whomever is president at the time will pardon him saying "it does the nation no good to look back". Meanwhile, that president may himself be looking for his next drone target.

Overreaching conspiracy theory. I'm sure some will say so. Unfortunately, I'm not a conspiracy theory buff. I believe Oswald killed Kennedy..alone. I believe muslim terrorists blew up the World Trade Center and I believe Timothy McVeigh blew up the federal building. No, I'm not a conspiracy theorist and this document, amongst some of the other things I see taking place, scares the hell out of me.

No, it means more then that. Anytime a politicians lips are moving, its doing one of three things. Lying, eating or fluffing each other up.

I've heard you say a few times the US needs to be like the "rest of the civilized world" and begin gun control. If you have read any of the links I have posted about the things the rest of the civilized worlds governments are doing to their citizens maybe you tell me which government it is you would like to see ours emulate. Even our lower economic class citizens are treated better than those in the country we continue to borrow the most money from:

Citizens having guns is not without its drawbacks Ronnie, neither is the alternative. Be careful what you ask for, often it isn't what it looked like. Gotta go, my kid is having a birthday party at school today.

The gov't has always been able to kill a person, American or not, if they were considered a senior leader of a terrorist organization. They are considered Non-uniformed combatants, and lose any rights under the Geneva convention. That's one of the reasons why we are allowed to have Gitmo Bay. At least that's what our Colonel told us in ROTC.

This is why it must be unrestricted. The day a person doesn't have the ability to defend themselves or their family is the day we become serfs and peasants.

Extrajudicial killing is official US policy. Doing so violates fundamental international, constitutional, and US statute laws.

Article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:

Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person.

Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights states:

Every human being has the inherent right to life. This right shall be protected by law. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his life.

Common Article 3 of the four Geneva Conventions states:

(T)he passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court, affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples" are prohibited at all times under all circumstances with no exceptions.

The Constitution's Fifth Amendment states:

No person (shall) be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.

US statute law (18 USC 1111 - Murder) states:

Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being with malice aforethought.
