Well, looks like some people have wanted to get into the spotlight by making threats about shooting up the kids at the high school (during the school assembly??) Dont' know if was real or not, i know i WALKED into the school today at 11:00 am without even being questioned. DEFINITELY alarmed me about the lack of concern when i picked my kid up. Maybe all just rumor, but they did send e-mail and phone messages dismissing it.????????/

We just let me say, names are already circulating about who it is, and supposedly 1 arrest. If you are one of them, you better damn well be willing to do yourself in when your finished.(like the other pu$$ies) cause if me and the other parents get their hands on you, you will regret the day you were born.

I'm also very concerned. There is no security in our schools and in light of what happened last week I think all our schools in our area should step up the security

How many parents are keeping their kids home tomorrow? I know I am. Canceling an assembly doesn't make it any safer. How about canceling district schools until they figure this out? The "it won't happen here" attitude is what's going to cause our children to be in danger. It should all be taken very seriously. And why weren't parents notified about any of this via the automated school alerts? Do we no longer have the right to know that the lives of our children are being threatened? That was a poor decision to not call. My kids will be safe tomorrow. At home with me where I can see them and know where they are while there are crazies threatening to harm them.

Nothing happened at the school today. Nothing. This is just a rumor, and you retards are propagating it. The school principal sent phone and email alerts, attempting to shut down these lies, but that's apparently not enough. Don't believe it? Call the police. Ask them if anything happened.

Well think of it this was. If someone one from the outside wanted to get in without being seen, all they have to do is wait fir the bell to ring. There are so many kids in the halls and going from building to building that if you looked young enough no one would think you were anything different. You would blend right in.

Rumor?????? Please explain why the assembly was cancelled on Tuesday. Why were parents not notified about this "rumor"? Obviously, something was up. We are retards for being concerned about our children? Yeah, let's call the police, if nothing was going on, why were they patroling the area? Answers please

Thats right become paranoid, Better not go to subway or walmart or any gas station, barracade yourself in the basement and stay there for the rest of your life.. The odds of anything happening in any of the schools are millions to one, It could happen in any of the millions of schools in America, or walmart or anywhere else.. Get a grip on yourself.

It's not about being paranoid to go to Walmart you idiot it's being concerned for the safety of our children. I know the odds are slim of something happening but last week was proof that its not only in big cities anymore. And let's face it Salem is full of strung out dope addicts and that makes for an unstable accident waiting to happen

Never let a crisis go to waste!
The school board wants to put a large tax increase on the April ballot. What if the admin is starting these rumors to further their cause?
Now anyone who comes out against the tax increase will be vilified for not caring about the children.

How in the world will it cost "half a million" to start locking doors? There are MANY security measures that can be put in place FOR FREE, or certainly don't require any expensive equipment or technology. You're a fool.

Why are the cops at the highschool if nothing is going on. If our kids being safe is gonna cost us in taxes, bring it on! I would much rather pay more taxes than have a dead child.

Well in that case maybe you should bubble wrap your child and keep him or her in their rooms for the rest of their lives. " YOU IDIOT" In life they are going to face all kind of life threatening times. You can't can't protect them forever. I highly doubt that anyone is going to come to Salem school and start a massacre. If the dope problem is what bothers you start a campaign to get this out of our society. That will not only help your kids and it might just keep them off drugs Which is more likely to happen than someone coming to the school shooting. It will rid the community of the drug garbage and bring down the chances of your kids getting on drugs and any trouble.

Ok, 1. true crazy people don't call the school in advance to let them know they are going to shoot it up. 2. The kids are more unsafe due to the absence of a fire code in this county then getting shoot at school. Not saying we need one, just saying if your going to freak out, why not freak out on something that stands a large threat to our kids. 3. Cops have probably been at the schools giving defense advise to help prevent a tragedy. I got kids in 2 of the schools in this district, and I am more worried about them getting ran over by a speeding asshole crossing the street to get on the bus then I am about them getting shot at school.
