....fact that people are blaming the victim.
Sorry...some how last post was cut off.....
The "victim"? Just how was she a victim? SHe wanted to have sex with an older guy, she made arrangements to see him, she traveled to he location, she met him, went out back with him, and took off her clothes and sex with him.
How exactly is she a victim? JUST because she is 14 she is a victim?
It sounds to me like the guy is the victim here. He is the one who was manipulated and arrested.
Did he break the law? Sure he did. But SHE was in control the whole time.

The fact that she was a CHILD makes her a victim. I can't believe for a minute that this man had no idea that he was having sex with a child.

He is a pedophile.
You people that are defending him a little sick.

You are so stupid that it makes me ill.
What would it take to get you to listen? A hand around your throat? A punch in the head?
NO ONE IS SERIOUSLY SAYING THE MAN IS NOT GUILTY. YOU STUBBORN BITCH.
What they are saying is THE GIRL IS GUILTY AS WELL.
NO ONE IS SERIOUSLY DEFENDING THE MANS ACTIONS.
It is so, so, SO obvious to me every day why women get beaten over and over and over.
This insistent stubborn ignorance. How many times will it need to be explained?
Yes, the man is guilty.
THE GIRL IS GUILTY AS WELL.
Don't just read the first part, read ALL OF IT.

My goodness is that the way you talk to all women, or just the ones that think you're wrong to defend a pedophile.
No wonder so many men are in jail for beating women...they obviously have no control or reason. They shouldn't have to acoount for where they put their own d**k.

What excatly is she GUILTY of....using her incredible sexuality to control a grown man's pen** because she was in control of the whole situation ( the poster before me said)
He had no way of controlling himself?...like I said
the fact that you are saying that a 14 year old girl was in control the whole time makes me wonder what other behaviors you think that grown men shouldn't be held accountable for.
Next the argument will be that he had no choice...after all, she was "offering" - what could he do?
So you say she is "Guilty" what would we prosecute her for?

Thank goodness you're in NJ and not in MA where this is happening.
And I thought the "Jersey Shore" mentality was an anamoly.

To the men who think this young girl was the one who orchestrated this and was in control I ask, what if this was your 14 year old daughter? Would you be okay with it?

The facts of how this occured are not clear. How do we know she was not pressured or threatened? At 14 I'd guess she could easily be manipulated by someone older or feel intimidated. What about if the story depicted a 12 year old would you still be blaming her as the Lolita? The reason we have statatory rape laws is because at 14 years of age a child is deemed unable to make those types of consentual decisions as much as some of you seem to think she is.

In any event, some of the attitudes here are disturbing to say the least.

Its amazing how many times you have missed the point.
Are you doing this on purpose?
There is no point in repeating what you're doing wrong, apparently you're never going to get it. The light is never going to come on.
You have misinterpreted their point over and over to the point that I think you may have brain damage.

She participated in this crime. Although I don't think she needs to be in a secure facility, she certainly should have a probationary curfew, and she should be required to monitored to and from school.
This crime would not have happened without her participation.
And if it were my 14 year old or 12 year old daughter, she would be in therapy.
Remember, she continued the relationship after she discovered she was flirting with a 29 year old. She cooperated with the adult to facilitate what happened.

Yeah, the girl definitely needs some professional attention. The man is obviously guilty, but Its foolish to think the guilt stood there.

I agree. Probation, and a mandatory curfew.
Why?
She intentionally made arrangements to have sex with a 29 year old simpleton. She cannot be trusted. She has proven that much.

And you seem stubbornly intent on defending a pedophile.
How young does she have to be to make the man responsible? If she was 12 would that be young enough? Ten? the fact that she arranged to sex with an ADULT...why don't you think the adult should be held responsible.....he couldn't help himself? She was TOO willing?
Gross.....
She was the child, he was the ADULT, so yes, that makes him the CRIMINAL
And....Yes, I think there is a huge problem with the
Let me tell you something. I myself have been the victim of rape. I was seven years old. Something very dear was taken from me against my will. I inform you of this because you need to know that I am not somebody who is going to defend a rapist. Its a heinous disgusting act. That being said THIS girl deliberately planned to take part in something that she KNEW was a CRIME. That's called conspiracy to Commit. Its illegal. When a teenager conspires to commit other crimes are they not held liable for their actions. Yes they are. So tell me why this kid is any different. She knew what she was doing was illegal. She knew she was underage and she did it anyway. Are you telling me that if an an adult gives a teenager alcohol and he/she drinks it the teenager should not be held responsible for underage drinking. There is absolutely NO DIFFERENCE. She should absolutely be held responsible ALSO. How in the h e double hockey sticks are we supposed to teach our children morals and values if we don't hold them responsible for their actions?!
