The Bible warns us to be careful that we are not deceived by falsehoods.(Colossians 2:8) Do you think that everything taught in the churches is from the Bible?

For example: Is the soul immortal?

According to the Bible the soul in not immortal! Ezekiel 18:4 says that "The soul that sinneth, it shall die."

Of course everything taught in church does not come from the bible. Also alot of the things in the bible are open too interpetation. There are alot of things that in my opinion within the church that are "unchristian" My opinion is that "alot" of so called Christians are hypocrites and quick to judge others I do not beleive this is how the bible portrays we should treat others. Jesus was kind and made friends with many different people "prostitutes" "tax collectors" "robbers" and "murderers"

I agree with you that many people read and have their own interpretation of the Bible. And obviously not all of them are right. Twisting the Scriptures to fit our own ideas can result in lasting harm.(2Peter 3:15,16) Don't you agree that if people considered surronding verses of any statement and then compared texts with other statements in the Bible that deal with the same subject---They would then be letting God's own Word guide their thinking and the interpretation would not be theirs but God's.

Jesus Christ said that the Bible was "truth" -(John 17:17) That truth is in the Bible.(2Tim. 3:16,17) God does not want us to grope in ignorance; he has said that his will is for us to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.(1 Tim. 2;3,4)
Jesus was kind and came to help people learn and serve his father, but he never altered the truth set out in the Bible to draw followers like many religions do. Let me ask you this --- do you think God approves of religious teachings?

The Bible itself nor does Jesus Christ anywhere say the "Bible" is the sole authority. The verse you quoted or Mis-quoted rather, says "Sanctify them through thy truth, thy Word is truth."
All Christians believe the Bible is the Inerrant Word of God(they should anyway). However it is not the only way to recieve the word of God. Jesus and his disciples didn't teach or read from the "bible" there was no such thing back then. Just Jesus teaching his disciples which in turn spread out and taught to whom they could reach us the church by oral tradition. This was called Apostolic succession. Jesus said to Peter on this Rock I will build my church...I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Mat16:18-19 I dont believe Jesus just set up this system just to die out after Peter, Paul, etc. Protected by the holy spirit, Until we get to the time when the bible was written and the books were chosen. Until then how do you suppose the church grew for all those hundreds of years if not for something other than the "Bible".? Oral Tradition.
This is how everyone has their bibles today...Catholic and Protestant alike... Martin Luther took out a few Books he didn't like from the original Catholic bible and now you have the protestant bible.(Simplified explaination)
