My daughter and I felt the quake here in Johns Creek, Georgia this morning! My bed was shaking and her mirror was banging against the wall. Did anyone else feel it?

I woke up (according to my clock) at about 5:36 and my bed was shaking and I heard things that were less steady rattle around on my night stand.

I have been through five earthquakes in my life and three of them were 6. something.

A 5.4 earthquakes really is not much. I am not surprised that no one was hurt. There probably was no real damage either.

I was awaken at 4:35 suddenly after only being asleep 1 hour, I didn't feel anything once awake but I wonder if it was the quake that woke me up.. I live in central Louisiana, is it possible that it could be felt here?

If, and that is a big IF, Atlantans felt the earth quake, they should roll over in bed to see who F*rted...There is no way that it was felt in Atlanta.....Illinois is what 4 or 5 states away? and plus it was only a 5.4, not like it was the 'big one'...But, on a serious note, I hope that everyone in Illinois is safe and well. God Bless...

I woke up to the pulls on my chest of drawers rattling. I got up to examine what was going on but didn't actually feel the vibration, just heard it. Then it stopped. About the same time, my husband woke up and saw me at the chest of drawers in the dark. He thought I was crazy especially when I told him the pulls were rattling. Thank goodness other people posted, so he doesn't think I am!!!!

I felt it as well, my bed started shaking. I looked up to see if it was my cat scratching himself, and he was sound asleep. I live in Dunwoody, about a mile from the King and Queen Towers.

It is very possible that we could feel it here in GA with the way the waves travel beneath the crust. My 5th graders could have told you that...we just studied it!

Felt it in North Decatur around 5:38 am this morning, felt like a low frequency wave, the kind of thing you feel when you are stopped on an overpass and a large, heavy truck rolls past you.

I have felt two small quakes before, but not this one and I have to tell you that I was wide awake on the computer, but my husband did have his alarm clock set for 4:35 and I heard nothing but the alarm going off and felt nothing, didn't even know about it until I saw it on 11 alive.com :) Hope all is well with everything and everyone.

I was in bed and had hit the snooze button at
5:30am and a few minutes later felt the bed shaking. My husband was also awake and felt the
tremor. I'm from California and I grew up
feeling this but it was creepy to feel one here.
Hearing were it was centered and the magnitude
makes me wonder how it could possibly be felt
in GA.
