the people and owner of shaver woodstoves are not responsible people. most of the crew are convicts and stay high 24/7! the owner is no different as he is on crank 24/7!! they are not behind as they just had a layoff!! I happen to know for mater of fact this business is about as legit as a 3 dollar bill!!

We have had a shaver stove for almost 19 years, does a wonderful job heating.Had a few kinks but nothing major, would buy another one. As far as the employees, people calling them convicts. Well if they are an did there time, there a citizen like everyone else trying to make a living. Don't judge to be judged.

I was a Shaver dealer until they continually LIED to us and other dealers here. SHAVER makes a SUBSTANDARD product, they have NO customer or dealer support or service.
BUT it does have and endless supply of excusses and more excusses every time we FINALLY got through on the phone.
EVERY truck drive that was sent there to pick up a LATE order REFUSSED to go there again, stating unorganized, dirty, muddy, and mismanaged, with no forklift to load the trailers, it takes 6 HOURS to put 14 Shavers on a trailer and it is not because they are careful because every furnace is scratched and dented all over, and the pictures from the truckers prove is was never done in shipping, they were loaded that way from Shaver.
If you were unfortunate enough to get deceived by Shavers website, call the BBB and the AR attorny general and your credit card company immediatlly and get your money back. Those of you looking to sue Shave contact our office we are starting class action suit, the more people involved the better.

Are you not happy with your furnace? Give me a call at the office. I wasn't aware you were having issues.

I was almost sold on buying a Shaver. After reading all of this, I am backing off. I have done a ton of research on different brands and one thing I want to know for sure is that the warranty is good and that the customer service is really there. While Shaver claims to have been around since 1972, it sure sounds like the service has not been consistent. I see why more than one dealer started making their own stoves now. I expect some of the competing brands, built on the same design, are just as good or better. Still shopping.

Yes,Shaver has been around since the 70s,but,not constantly in business....Gerald Shaver (Shaver Plumbing) started building the stoves then quit (think it was early 90s) because of low demand....His son,Billy just started back building them in the last few years....They dont have the long track record that they claim to have.....not judging, just telling the facts.

Most people buy the Shaver stoves because they are low cost and very simple in design. They can be made into a high efficiency stove with just a few inexpensive updates. I have had 2 Shavers and currently run a 250 to heat my 4000 sq ft home and my 1200 sq ft shop in MN.. I do have to mention that my Shaver came with the roof on crooked so the front left has no over hang and the front right has 3". Same with the back. Gaping holes blobbed full of caulk and very pooly insulated although Ben sain it would be R50. The inner frame is rusty and I know it will not last 10 years before the frame rusts out. My 1st stove from Shaver was a 165 and it had leak issues when it was hot. The Shaver guys were kind enough to upgrade me to a 250 just for the price of delivery. That part was a good expierience and they made it right with me. I hope they get it together and figure out the shortfalls of the company and fix them. A little craftsmanship would go a long way too. These stoves are chopped, hacked and blob welded together. All in all, I realy like the 250 after a couple important but inexpensive upgrades. The upgrades make this stove come alive!

I just purchased a 250, have not installed yet. I hope the stove works better than it looks, very poor workmanship on the outside of the unit. Very poor attitude on the owner Billy, says the stove will work good even though the outside is only cosmetic. Everyone who has seen my unit says to send it back, however it will cost to much, for I already paid for shipping once $1600.00 so I hope it works well? I would not buy another!

The 250 will do a good job if you do a few modifications. I think the Shaver guys are all crosseyed the way they build the stoves. Mine came with the roof on 4" crooked. Blobs of caulk all over it. But like I said, Do the fan and thermostat mods and it will be ok. Just dont show it to anyone. UGLY ASS WORKMANSHIP!!!
