Deadly motorcycle crash in Great Valley
Mike Courtney
Sep 18, 2011 12:16 p.m.

Cattaragus County Sheriff's investigators are looking into a deadly motorcycle crash that happened in Great Valley overnight.
The accident happened just before midnight. Deputies say the victim is a 40-year old man from East Otto.
They're not releasing his name to the media until family has been notified.
The cause of accident remains under investigation.
Does anyone know who this is?

There is a reason why the identification of a person killed is not released because the next of kin needs to be made aware/notified, and I sure hope, if this name is real, that the next of kin has been informed. I don't agree with non factual information being released, verify your facts or leave it alone and let the next of kin notify those who need to be, and think about it, there may be a friend who knows this person and who isn't aware of this.

Anyone whose leaving a bar after a night of drinking are taking theirs and innocent other motorists
placing life'sin danger! If this is true, I hope the family files a lawsuit against the bar for serving to much alcohol to the crash victim.
I've never heard of a reason why someone goes to a bar, drinks to much, and becomes "shit faced";
what does one gain from this?

Sues the bar for serving him too much ???? So much for personal responsibility.

Some people don't necessarily appear "shitfaced" and may have had alcohol somewhere else also.

Apparently, you don't ride motorcycles ...

WHO said that he was fallin' down drunk ???

Just a couple of beers can slow your reaction time down enough to make what would be a survivable accident in a car or truck a fatality on a motorcycle !!!

You need to CONSTANTLY BE ON YER TOES ALL THE TIME when riding a motorcycle, as you have literally NO PROTECTION other than your HELMET & LEATHERS.(if yer smart enough to wear a HELMET & LEATHERS, as some states still don't have helmet laws.)

You probably know a lot about helmets and leathers. I heard you use cuffs and gags too.

It doesn't matter, just like the Salamanca school district doesn't need to pay
for after school sports like high school football, people don't need to consume alcohol and drive motorcycles; its not necessary!

It was Mike Yacone III, originally from the Buffalo area, but was living in East Otto. I was at the accident on Sugartown on Friday night and it appeared that he tried to miss a deer and lost control. There are tons of deer on that road.

"There are tons of deer on that road."

I lived in an area that was also deer-infested where everybody put those deer whistles on everything they drove to scare 'em off ...

This was tragic. Mike is my brother. Please refrain from any negative comment for respect of my parents, who are having a very tough time with his loss. I know Michael is in a better place and we will miss him beyond words. Thank you

Prayers are with you. This is a tragic time for your family. I too lost a sibling years ago and it is still like yesterday in my mind. Take care of yourself and your family.

Bob, I don't know you or your Brother but, I feel your pain. I lost a brother, and a cousin to separate
motorcycle crashes. Rest in solace that there in a better place without pain. When your parents are down, give them a reassuring hug, it helps!
