Dispute Endangers Salamanca Bridge

The Center Street Bridge in Salamanca is showing its age. It's 67 years old, and there's more rust than paint.

The bridge in Salamanca is still not open, and no monitoring or action has been taken since september, even after an accident on october 19th in which a car hit a steel support beam and traffic was shut down for an hour and a half, traffic was then detoured to north state st. and 353, when another accident occured, all as a result of the bridge being shut down to one lane, it is very unsafe!!

Has anyone noticed that it takes awhile to go left off of Broad Street to head to Seneca Elementary School???????? What a pain in the ASS.... you have cars pulling out of Dunkin Donuts and no left arrow to turn safely. I don't know how many times I have all most witnessed an accident or have almost been involved in one myself. The City really needs to add a light with a green arrow to help those that are turning to head into the School. I am sure the Bus drivers would agree with me.

I'd suggest contacting either the head of the DPW - is this Ray Wilson?- or the mayor, Mr. Pond. They both strike me as reasonable folks who would listen to your suggestion.

Don't forget over the years the thousands of children who have crossed in front of Movie World toward Parkview where there is NO light and NO crosswalk. Iroquois Drive is extremely busy in the AM and afternoon. I can't believe no one has been hit there yet. They need a light during school hours and a crosswalk for all the people that cross Broad St. It's a very dangerous intersection. I can't possible be the only person in Sally to see this.
