Adderall worked best for me. However what kind will work best for your child is another matter, assuming you are trying to decide on the "best" medicine, it depends on the individual.

My daughter is on Focalin XR and she's doing wonderful!! I was so against putting her on meds!! I went through hell trying to figure it all out! She is more focused and is doing so much better in school. I guess it just depends on what works for you.

How old were your children before you made the decision to medicate? We have a 5 yr old that just started kindergarten, we have/are trying to hold off as long as possible, with routine, diet, & exercise. But now that school has started, issues seem to be progressing and nothing is working.

She was 5 as well. Her Dr sent her to Dr Arco she is amazing!!! She tested very low ADHD but her IQ was 172!!! The tests are very simple they look at communication, verbal and physical skills. I suggest getting your. Hold tested just to be safe. I finally gave in and said "you know what? What can it hurt to find out for sure." I wish you the best keep me up to date :-)

We have an almost four year old. She had seizures, four In all. We have quite a time with her. Same as most parents we are trying to avoid meds for as long as we can. Her nuerologist told us to expect add and or adhd as seizures as them go hand in hand. We have started watching all dyes in her food as well as foods with high fructose corn. We have a different child when we avoid those foods. Jekyll and Hyde so to speak. When we avoid them she is the sweetest girl. Loves on you. Wants read to. When not avoided she is out of control. Throwing things. Running in circles. Crazy. Its working for her. Just takes a bit to read labels and find alternatives.
