Guest Comment: Southern Arizona border security is unacceptable

One of the most challenging problems I have inherited as the new representative from Arizona's 8th Congressional District is the wide gaping hole that we have in our border security.

The entire country is without security, period. What happens or not on our borders effects all of the country. We need military on the border 24/7 and a military with weapons loaded!

Do not tell me that a country spending trillions to rebuild Iraq can not take care of its borders. The government does not WANT to close the borders: if they do, how will the big corporations get the cheap labor to keep their companies profitable? Where there's a will there's a way. There is no will.

Perhaps you should choose your country, Seattle, because what you are doing by not hiring legally is taking a job away from a US citizen, and that is very sad. I believe that Seattle and Washington belonged to the American Indian. Let me know when you decide to return your state and city to them.

Oh, I so agree I was unclear. But I have a reason: I am very emotional about the fact that these hard-working Mexicans who will work at jobs Whites won't do, originally owned a great deal of the southwest including a huge part of California. They're getting the last laugh though, as they are coming across in droves, taking advantage of our system, birthing new ones, & even winning the lottery... ha ha. P.S. I still insist they are the hardest workers, even with less pay.

What a crock of crap, notice where I live? Mexicans work ethic is no better than anyone else, Slave labor is what you want and illegal aliens are just that. Anyone who is low enough to use them deserves to be imprisoned and loose there business.
The good news is there are less of them this year then last year, many being deported and many leaving on their own. E-verify is being used by more employers now and it works. It was just extended for another year today. the use of programs like http://www.wehirealiens.com/ are excellent in that the common citizen can report employers who use the aliens, and it's free.
If your an illegal alien invader your days are numbered, if you hire illegal aliens, you could loose everything.

i agree i am only 17 but i live in arizona and imagraition is apart of my daily life. and those of you who think its not a problem dont live close enought to where the problem is. i live in a part of arizona that has high trafic of illegal alliens. just about every day i se border patrol on the roads stopping people. i was riding my quad around my house and i came apon a site where it was just trashed with food drinks back packs supplies all that stuff and i even found a booklet that tells them how to get across the border safely. it was in spanish but i translated it and it was quite interesting. i work at a car wash where all you have to do to get a job is to sign a form and give them your adrres and phone number. i work with illegal aliens all the time. the funny thing is they tell me there illegal and one day the cops showed up and took away half or workers and the bosses got nothing not even a slap on the wrist its redicolous.

Call this number, it is confidential and they will do a follow up on it to see if ICE does anything, if not they put the employer on a public list of scum that hire illegals.

Mr. Tepic in Nayarit: I didn't say Mexicans are hard workers, I said ILLEGAL Mexicans working HERE are! It takes juevos to leave your family, cross a treacherous border (many die every summer), & take your chances here...guess only the hard workers leave Mexico.
