I am with you on this one!!! I remember many many years ago when the only reason the tolls were put there was to build the bridge and fix the roads and then the tolls would go away. Do you remember that?? Yet another lie!! They are making plenty of money so as it is on these EZ Passes which are not making it so EZZZZZZZ for us working AMERICAN CITIZENS to afford anymore!!.

You are ignoring the main reason for the Delare River Toll Bridge Authority: Create good jobs for well connected political cronies, their relatives and out of favor politicians.

When does this start? Where was this announced? I see nothing about it on PennDOT's website (in the EZ Pass section).

This does not sound correct. If it's true, I will be closing my EZ Pass account.

My EZ Pass account is through the PA Turnpike. There is a $3 annual service fee for it. There is nothing on their website about this $1/month fee from the DRJTBC.

I looked at the DRJTBC website. It does say they are going to charge a $1 per month service fee effective June 1. I think this only applies to people who have their EZ Pass accounts through the DRJTBC. Good luck with that, DRJTBC!

It's like George Carlin said... New Jersey should be the "toll booth state" -- this is just rediculous. I travel to NY twice or more per month, and EXPASS is worth it when getting using the NJ Tpke and Goethals, Verranzano, bridges... you actually get a substantial discount from them! Adding a surcharge per month? That's crazy.

New Jersey has charged a monthly fee for years, though what makes the fee ``convenient'' I do not understand.

This is ONLY for accounts held with the DRJTBC.... PA Turnpike EZ-Pass account holders will not be effected

I remember reading the same thing that the Toll bridge commission was to take over the private bridges and fix them using the tolls for 10 -15 years and then hand them over to the state to maintain using tax dollars.

That was back in the '30's or 40's.

Once a government entity is established, it is almost impossible to destroy.
