It makes me sick that people would be concerned about her driving ability and not the person that she was and the people that are hurting because of their loss. Cassidy was a wonderful person and there should only be positive comments posted here in her remembrance.

As the locals know, Rt. 114 can be dark and desolate. At least five deer a week are hit along that stretch between EH & Sag. Be vigilant.

Amazing to see such ignorant comments by Nick and Tree Service. Both of you have severe issues.

I live less than a mile from the accident scene. I did not know Cassidy's family, but my heart goes out to them. No family should lose a child.

Tree Service, you truly are a piece of filth. Her parents are wonderful, hard-working people and she was not some spoiled rich kid. The curve where she was killed is sharp and very dangerous. I teach at her high school and she was a wonderful kid.

Rest in Peace Cassidy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Hey Newsday there is no Sunset "Avenue" along Route 114 in North Haven ...its Sunset "Road"...
and i know the deer and slick road was to blame but was SPEED a contributing factor also???
Merrick Guy, Lemme put you to the test... Do you KNOW every road for road on Long Island?! GET SERIOUS!

why has this board become a discussion about driving skills and overpopulation, of deers or humans, whatever it may be? Please take it to the right place. As a former Sag local I knew this girl pretty well and I'm really hurt to see all of the insensitivity on this board. I guess this is what happens when local news hits the big old internet. I'd suggest that people who didn't know her stop saying things like "oh well at least it looks like she had a privledged life" and "oh its always those teens driving the beemers" and accept it for what it was, a horrible accident! Poor girl. There are quite a few prissy, overprivledged girls out there that do dumb things, but from what I remember this girl wasn't one of them so stop generalizing. This girl was a local, not a tourist from NYC driving around the hamptons in her bmw for the weekend.

Now THAT is sad!

I'm not sure the family of such a tragedy actually goes online and reads what Newsday people have to say but if condolences. It sounds like she was a super star. Hopefully you can think of a way to honor her memory.

Also, she sounded like a terrific hard working kid. If her parents bought her an old BMW as a reward for being so awesome she deserved it.

Sorry for the loss. She seemed like an ideal daughter.

On a side note, I don't know what Newsday is going to do with all these nerds and shut-ins who must pollute every thread with insensitive remarks. Don't they know that family and friends of the victim read this board? Are they that shallow and self-consumed?

Newsday really needs to look into this.

Another rich kid driving at excessively speed with a BMW - they never learn due to thoughtless parents. She was such a good child, said her mommy. Yeah, right.
Who the hell are you to be saying anything about Cassidys family, I happened to grow up with her and she was a good kid with a kind heart and she touched so many people. You perhaps need to do something better with your time then write nasty things on a site where people are mourning.
Rest in peace Cassidy Always in our hearts.

I think that this is a hard time for everyone. No matter what, negative comments should not be said about her. Please if you have any respect or tact remove your negative thoughts, your opinion at this time would be best kept to yourself. my prayers are with christie and rich in this terrible time.

cassidy. your beautiful, shine bright girl. no one will ever know what happened but you. you will be deeply missed
