50 years ago mothers would leave their kids in their carraiges outside of retail stores and go inside and shop.

Today we live in a Police Nanny State, so leaving a baby alone outside is an offense so harsh it gets written up in the local newspaper, as well as the parents being arrested, and having thier baby taken away.

How long will it be before parents are subject to 'Home Inspections'.. unannounced, to ensure the 'living conditions' inside the home are met to 'State Standards'.

Little unstudied fact: most people who work for Child Welfare Agencies don't have kids.

Castration and a hysterectomy should take care of this happening in this family again.

BUT BACK TO THE YOUNGER KIDS I FELT SINCE THEY WERE CRANKY BEFORE THE RIDE THEY NEEDED THE NAP SO I WOULD TAKE A CHAIR AND THEN SIT OUTSIDE ON THE STOOP WHILE THEY SLEPT AS SOON AS I WOULD SEE THEM START TO STIR TO GET UP I WOULD GO GET THEM. BUT YET OF COURSE THAT WAS IN FRONT OF MY OWN HOUSE OR MY MOMS HOUSE AND NOT IN FRONT OF A STORE OR IN THIS CASE AN OTB PARLOUR!! AND MY KIDS WEREN'T 9 WEEKS OLD WHEN I DID IT THEY WERE ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD.

Society can only hope that you are impotent and also that you lack the requirements to even adopt a child.

This happened in Southampton? You gotta wonder what happened there. Those people don't deserve to have children.

It's a shame a horse needed to be euthanized after the race. The same procedure would be equitable for these 2 losers

Why didn't the police remove the baby from them and turn it over to child welfare authorities. What they did is a crime called Child Endangerment.

Unfortunately, there are no competency requirements for procreating. We need a license to drive, a license to marry, but no license to have children.
Becoming a parent means alot of self-sacrificing. Once you have a child that child takes precedence in you life. Mom and dad canít always do what they want to do when they want to do it!

A very small baby left in a locked car for 20 minutes. The day was not very cold but the heat was left on.

Was the baby so unsafe? I think not.

What would be the difference if the mother left him in the house in the bedroom in his crib with the heat on while she mowed the lawn for 25 minutes?

The baby was well protected locked in the car. It was in no danger. It was young enough it could not cause itself any harm.

THINK. Now tell me what danger the kid was really in.

Oh sure the car could have caught on fire but so could have the house. Someone could have stole him out of the locked car but someone could also sole him out of the bedroom window.

Ok, let me have it for defending them. But at least come up with reasonable reasons.

This is the world we live in these days. What is more important a horse that you do not even own or a child(which is not a toy or "animal") who you brought in to this world. Children are a blessing and some parents are so ungrateful. Also your excuse is left the heat on???? Are you kidding me? Why didn't you leave the baby home with the baby sitter or was the horse running in your mines that bad. Trust me, this will come back to get them.

So where do you come up with the "fact" that Carbon Monoxide was somehow involved.

The article does not state whether or not the car was a old junker or a new car. It is very rare for a car left in the open to have a carbon monoxide problem inside. If they did people would be falling over dead driving down the road or should I say the baby in the back seat would be dead after a 30 minute ride.

The article does not say whether a window was left open to allow fresh air in, yet you are jumping to all kinds of opinions.

SouthHampton? They must have some bucks because if that were an ordinary person the Kid would have been turned over to CPS and they would be in Jail waiting to be bailed out Tomorrow. Money don't make ya any smarter, that's for sure.
