I read the article in the paper about this and I know there is always two sides to a story...BUT! I thought our officers had tazers? It is a dogs job to protect there house and owners and I tell you what!!!! My dogs are family, not just little hairy rodents and if something was to happen like that to me I'd be LIVID! I think that there had to of been something else Officer Brad Reynalds could of done. He's a big guy and he had time to pull his gun...he should of had time to pull a tazer! The dog might still be alive. And just like people, they'd have to proove him guilty!

Tazing a dog might not have the same effects as it would on a human. Dogs don't usually respond too well to electric shock. Also, in a situation in which a dog is attacking the officer, after eight seconds, the tazer cuts out, and because dogs don't have have the basic knowledge that it's gonna happen again, the dog is just more pissed and prone to attack.
A better alternative would've been mace, but the killing of the dog was duly justified. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but it had to be done.
