A LAW ENFORCED AGAINST HAVING PIT BULLS IN TOWN AND COMMUNITIES, THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD NEVER BE CONSIDERED A PET ESPECIALLY WHERE CHILDREN ARE CONCERNED. HARD TO BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD WANT A PIT BULL FOR A PET.

It's a hard one, I was with the mother and her son yesterday...they were volunteering by washing dogs with the same group where they had received "Tucker" (shep/terrier mix). I was talking with her and we gushed back and forth of how much we love Tucker, what a sweet loving dog he is. It's an unfortunate event. Mother and son have been home today, as far as I have been told. Most important, I think, is that this child finds the strength to not fear dogs. As for Tucker, given the same situation...I wonder if my dog (who is not a Shepard, nor Terrier/Pit) may have reacted the same?

highland lakes golf and country club area is quiet, beautiful and usually safe,
on march 24/09 while doing my lawn work, i hear cries from my 6 pound yorkie, misty, iwho was leashed in the garage , sun bathing.
i rush to her cries, stunned to see 2 pitbulls grappling at her , in the corner of our garage,
one white, no collar, one tan no collar, how could this happen?
very easily, irresponsible owners who do not spike and chain pitbulls.
roaming pitbulls are against fl. law.
at this time, i took the chance of loosing my life to save this famous yorkie,
i reached down between the 2 pitbulls, grabbed her wide collar and pulled her from their attack,
these 2 dogs jumped me, finally an unexpected arrival, the police deputy, and the owner who drove an unmarked white old van.
the dogs ceased.
the deputy asked, no one injured?
this was such a traumatic experience, im hoping some one will read this and act.
as for neighbors they stood and watched.
we were unscathed physically but mentally devastated.
we thought we were safe.

all u idiots that think that pitbulls are vicious dogs need to do a little research and see just where they rank against other breeds in temperment test and number of bites wake up its the owners not the breed
