DAVE'S PEOPLE: When you see your ex-wife

There are 4 comments on the Eureka Times Standard story from Aug 20, 2009, titled DAVE'S PEOPLE: When you see your ex-wife. In it, Eureka Times Standard reports that:

What would she say? How would I act? How do you re-exam a marriage that was 10 years of ecstasy and one of agony? And how do you compress it into one sunny Sunday afternoon by the water? Catherine was a dental hygienist and me, a TV reporter hoping to settle down.

Very succinct story, Mr. Silverbrand. I was jarred, however, when you mentioned having lunch at Woodley Island. Therein may lay the cause of your failed marriage; poor restaurant choices.

Immediately when you mentioned eating at Woodley Island, I remembered the stomach distress and embarrassment recently when I took out of town guests there for lunch. The food and presentation could only be described as atrocious!

Never again will I return voluntarily until I read about change of ownership, management and above all, what has to be the worse restaurant cook in California is removed from the premises.

You forgot to mention the lovely stomach churning smell of low tide.
(do not go there for a hangover breakfast, you will puke in your bloody-mary)

It was a very good and heart felt story. Thank you for sharing. The title of this article: "Dave's People" caught my attention when I was looking for a different article on a local news website in Kennebunkport. I thought to myself, is this Dave Silverbrand???? And it is! You had my grandmother as one of the people you interviewed and did a story on as part of your "Dave's People" segments. This must have been in 1980. She was a lovely, very animated greek woman who had a vegetable stand in Waterboro. She competed with her neighbor down the street and it made for a cute local story. I was only 8 years old and your cameraman took a shot of me with a large tomato in my mouth. Those pictures and that story is priceless to me now and my family. Thank you for those memories!

I hope all is well for you on the otherside of the US.
