Is Sabinal going to hold an election for a new mayor?

Let's get the information correct from the start. The city of Sabinal currently has three positions available on the city council. The position of mayor is not on the ballot until next may. If you wish to register you have until march 23, 2008 to do so. If you believe you can make a difference all you have to do is step up and announce your running for public office. Wish you luck. FYI...the Sabinal PD is keeping the info on who the chief is...secret...they said Strawn is NOT the chief...but wouldn't say whether Donoghue is or is not the chief...suggesting you call Donoghue to find out the info...what's up with that?...you can't get a straight answer on who the police chief is?

Please tell us more about this guy. I, myself would like to know why he was willing to move 1850 miles to be the chief not knowing how much he was going to get paid. What is he hinding or running from. You would think that he would get paid more in a larger town in MT. Something smells really fishy about this guy.

He is not a T.C.L.E.O.S.E. licensed TX Peace Officer. He can not call himself a Chief of Police. He can only be referred to as a Police Administrator. He has 180 days to complete the TX Peace Officer exam for State Licensing. He has no more arrest power then any private citizen. He can not perform police duty without being under the constant supervision of a real police officer. He can not even review criminal records.

FYI to all who want to know, he is T.C.L.E.O.S.E Licensed and yes in Texas, so yes he has arrest power, he can preform duty WITHOUT supervision. He is THe Chief of Police and a Texas Peace Officer, so I hope all will give him a chance to do his job.

what are you talking about he is a prince of a man. isnt everyones dream to drive 1500 miles to thier next job? yeah that sounds right to me. but he loves this town kinda like he loved his last thats why he lasted so long maybe thats why he moved from florida to montana and montanta to texas causer he loved the wide open country.
