Ben Malloy should be treated like any other drug dealer/user, that is, applying the law to his offenses and not giving him special treatment because he is the mayor's son. This unfortunately is the norm when a rich kid commits a crime. Poor kids and those without celebrity connections do time for the crime; rich kids should, too. Remember Michael Skakel and Alex Kelly: rich kids who committed crimes and didn't spend a day in jail until many years later.

This young man sold drugs to an informant on three seperate occaisions. he should go to jail and not have his record clean. check the court records too see how many minorities sold drugs to informants and had there records clean. Justice is still white america

I agree that he shouldn't have his records clean, but enough with the White America, you sound like an idiot. LOL Heck Obama had my vote up until REV WRIGHT said those horrible comments. Poor Obama, maybe you make it a white world for yourselfs.

I think he should pay for his crime just like any other individual or the mayor should offer this same alternative to other individuals. Like the previous comments, another case of a rich brat getting away with crime... He should do some community service with victims of drug abuse. E.g. crack babies, children who have lost their parents to drug abuse etc. I can go on and on. I agree this is not a race issue. I am a minority. p.s. to the Stamford Resident, Don't let REV Wright deter you from voting the best person in the White house!!!!!

The farce continues, and still some wonder why Americans have become so cynical about criminal "justice". No way anyone else in town would have a chance to wipe his/her record clean after what his kid did more than once.

3 Felonies? If that was anyone else A/R would be denied. Lets see if the Department of Consumer Protection and the prosecution object to A/R. Lets see where the loyalty lies.

I'm not familiar with this particular case & who cares. For every dlr. you take off the street, another will take there place. I suggest people get informed or at the very least; learn about law enforcement agency's against prohibition, also known as [l.e.a.p.]youtube has great videos on subject. All users are considered criminals because of law interpertation. I personally get offended by our govt. even making me use a seat belt, never mind what substance i put in my body. It is my life, period especially if i am driving alone. Drugs {alcohol included} are social problems & often go hand & hand with economic problems. Drugs are big business, just as they were during prohibition. Who profited, mostly corrupt cops, and organized crimes, the news represent similar facts esp. around cops. I am not putting down cops, it's just facts, shit happens around money, esp in America where money is "everything". Do you really believe that the salesman or his secretary who drank the illegal occasional martini after work & even if they were having an affair should have been jailed? The war against drugs affect many innocent lives of people in our communities nationwide, worldwide, this is true. However to make it big business for Gov'tmental agencies I truly do not believe this is the answer.Every time a kid or adult buys an "illegal substance" do you really think it goes directly in the hands of terrorists. Come on people, get your brain on. The failed war on drugs is just as disastrous as our childrens children will be paying for the trillions Cheney & Bush or {the Oil men} blew in Iraq.

I know someone who`s trying to get his record cleaned,is he going to get the same special treatment that the Malloy kid is probably going to get? This is so much bull shit. The non using dealers should go to prison and never see the light of day, and the users, including those who sell in order to use should be forced into re hab.Remember, the non using dealer does it for profit only, the dealer user does it because they`re addicted. There`e a big difference. The government throws money away on one dumb thing after another, why not spend some money and help these sick addicted people and help them to get their lives back. It would probably put this country back on top. Then again what about all the hero cops that arrest the addict and don`t do squat about the dealers. I think they call that job security.
