It sounds like the Caspi family should get a grip on their delinquient son. He sounds like a real looser that they think can do no wrong. May justice be served and he gets what he deserves which is nothing!

Heather, go read the blog on journal news and see for your self what the facts are and go look at the picture of the kid. Then make comments.

The parents here are out of control. They let their children run wild and do as they please. If the child needs a keg at his 9th grade party in order to be popular, so be it. The parents just throw money at their kids so they can go off in their self involved lives. Rye needs a reality check big time...

Rye resident you are generalizing the children in rye as well as downplaying the corruption that exist within the Rye Police Department. Rye police have been spotted all over westchester, including the pub and some portchester bars, doing cocaine, smoking marijuana and driving drunk. Rye police have a history of taking advantage of their relaxed community by running red lights, conducting illegal searches, and trespassing on private property. I personally know girls that when in high school have been approached for sex by Rye police officers. The cops that do do this sort of thing are pathetic individuals who use their authority to assert their dominance over a already calm and peaceful society. The most dangerous thing in Rye is Playland and Rye cops don't even patrol there. What is so hard about their job, not much. Their abuse is widespread and inexcusable and this incident, weather Caspi was on drugs or not, shows the RPD's poor training and even worse performance in thier "dangerous" job as Rye Police.

Ok first of all, Heather, you're an idiot. Secondly, I've lived in Rye for over 10 years and personally have witnessed RPD incompetence and corruption. They think that because Rye is a very safe community, that the laws don't apply to them. The only excuse for the kind of abuse that Andy Caspi suffered at the hands of those idiot cops would be if he pulled a weapon, which he clearly didn't.

As a victim of a violent crime in Rye, I actually thought that justice would be served in Rye court. That was until a corrupt Rye cop lied under oath (not to mention a ridiculous judge who predetermined the verdict before anyone's testimony.) Mr. Caspi was 100% correct in requesting a venue change for the trial since there is a rigged system of justice in Rye. My point: corrupt cops are not just something you read about or see on the NYC news stations. It's real and happening very much right here in Rye.

Having spent the first 35 years of my life in rye..I can understand what this poor kid is going through. Kids will be kids and who hasn't experienced all the things we shouldn't..thats how we learn. This cop should have had a little more compassion about the situation, a power trip is not needed here..he's a kid just doing what kids do. Parents cannot control this, just understand it and deal with it themselves..not the law...living in mayberry with benefits is rye.

Does anyone know if there was a verdict in this case? Was the trial held outside of the Rye court system? I seriously doubt Mr. Caspi would receive a fair trial if it were tried in Rye due to the conflict of interest issue as well as the corrupt Good Old Boys Club mentalty of the creeps who operate within the Rye system.
