Depends... What am I voting for? Who is this person? What qualifications do they have? I do not look at a name when i vote. I look at record, experience, and values.

I think the requirements should be the same as the POTUS, should be a life long resident of the county. How can he/she know what's best for the county if he/she doesn't know it's history.

That comment comes from a narrow minded biggot. You have no idea what is good. For the county or what is not.if Mickey Mouse was born and bred here in Grainger Co., you tell us that you would vote for good o'le Mickey than someone who was not born and bred here. You simply are a ignorant fool. When the good lord was giving out brains you must have thought he said trains and took the first one out. That is why this county is so far behind.

I don't think time in county should be e only factor... Sure they should understand our county, but let's be real. Someone who is educated and well qualified is a better choice than anyone who has lived her for life, I don't care if your family came over on the Nina, Penta, or Santa Maria. If you have no qualifications then you have no business being in the position. And I'm singling you out mr. Defnot, I'm using the term "you" to mean anyone else.

I just think this county basis too much on someone family last name and not enough on who can be better at the job. Would you rather go to a mechanic for brain surgery or go to a mechanic for car trouble? Of course he answer is obvious, but it makes my point very well. You need to go to th person that is qualified to handle you problems.

Well, let's take a look at the proof we have have here for being qualified. You left out "th" in (the) in your first sentence.

Second, it was the Pinta, not the Penta. Thirdly, you left a 's off (someone) in your second paragraph. Fourthly, you left a "e" off of (the) in your last sentence and lastly "to handle you problems" should be "your" is not correct sentence structure.

I think we know your not qualified if you were thinking of running.:)

So, now your the grammer police? What is the problem? You couldn't find anything else of substance to back up your argument with? Feel free to pick mine apart too, I was edumacated right here in Grainger County.

Personally, I will vote for the person that I feel can do the better job. I don't give a damn if he or she is from Mars. I can tell you who I will not be voting for, but I bet you can guess who that is.

....and The Queen ill back up The Oak Tree, anytime.
Typing errors are no reason to disqualify anyone from a public office, if they otherwise meet the requirements.
There are many relative newcomers to this area who care a great deal about issues here, and they have a perfect right to run for office and, if elected, to serve this area.

All that I am saying is that it is issues and qualifications that matter. Not what someone's last name is,nor how long they have lived here... If the person can relate to our county, will take the job seriously, and takes 0 crap from anyone...

We need integrity, tact, and loyalty... Not some joe redneck that has a good last name.
