There is some people on Whitt lane in bean station that's supposed to pay rent where they rented a house. They didnt pay much of any rent the whole time they've been there (2yrs).The owner wants them to get out,he sent them a registered letter,he had to get a warrant for them to go to court this week. The house used to look good but they tore up the whole house, and bull dozed all the lawn that used to be so green. They left trash piles all over the place, even on the land someone else had for sale!! The county had to make them clean it up. They also stole power which they got caught for doing and the electric company didn't do anything about it.What do you think about over 15 dogs?? Pit bulls, chicuahas, you name it they have it. The man is too LAZY to work so he works just enough so he can get an income check. To beat it all they have food stamps, tenn care and who knows what else! Thats what i call down right STUPID.What does everyone else think about this?

How do you know this information? I find it hard to beleive that you know all of this to be the truth.

While I don't think a person should let their land/home turn to filth, I don't think it's right to judge a person based on their income, insurance, or government assistance should they have any. I also don't agree with calling the stupid.
Maybe you should be a good neighbor and ask the person if they need some help or need someone to talk to. Maybe they are having issues within the home.

I agree! People are alway's about judging before even knowing the problem's of people. These people could be good people, they may just be having a hard time. It's so sad that people are all about judging before even knowing what people may be going through. They may be having a very hard time, know one should judge unless, they happen to know what these people are going through. And, your right they may just need a helping hand, or a little help first.

Sadly, this is the state of half the county. Some of you are already saying don't judge. If this was your house they had rented and left in this state you would sure be doing some judging of your own. I say that people are not afraid of hard work these days, they can lay down right beside it, pop a pill and go to sleep. Government assistance should have limits set upon it, and a drug test should be one of those limits. They should also have to do some kind of work, if it is nothing but pick up litter off the side of the road. Working people don't get a free ride, and can't afford a lot of things these days. We have learned to tighten our belts and do without. It's your tax dollars and mine that support this activity.

I don't have a problem with people getting assistance when they loose their jobs or have an actual disability. I do have a problem with someone that won't work or even try to get a job, draws checks off the government along with their foodstamps, health care, WIC and so forth. When we stop supporting them and handing them everything they need, they might then get up off their lazy asses and work.

My guess is, if their house was in a mess inside and out, this person didn't want to go in and see if they needed help. They were alright to make that mess, they should be out cleaning it up. There are a few places like this back in the valley, you bleeding hearts should run back there and see if they need some help or someone to talk to about their problems.

As usual, I wholly support Oak Tree's statements.
It does not justify tearing holes in walls to say that you're poor or ill.
Poor or ill people should be even more careful than rich or well people to take care of property.
If they could drive land-moving machines across a lawn to tear it up, they were well enough to push a vacuum cleaner across a floor to pick up the dirt there.
I ow some small amount of rental property, and I am disgusted at what people will do to damage property, all the while avoiding paying the rent.
I have one set of elderly tennants who are Eastern European in descent, and they are 'Tennants from Heaven'.
They have never been late with their rent (it's a token amount), they have never had the police to come to their house, they improve their house often, they keep their yard and house clean and attractive, and they often mow the grass up along my rather long driveway while I'm away.
We treat them like our own family, and often tell them to just not pay any rent for a month or more.
When ANY landlord has good tennants, almost without exception, they show some way of appreciation.
But often, rental propety can be spotted as such from the road. It is unkept, disorderly, and 'cheap' looking. Tennants are often careless about the appearance of the dwelling, and, should you ask the land-lord, there have been times when they don't get their rent, or do not get it on time.
I, like Oak Tree, have 'Compassion Fatigue'.
I am tired of paying taxes to support the nastiest houses in our communities. I am tired of having to avoid certain areas where a great many people live who are on 'public assistance'. I am dismayed by the high crime rates amoung the poor, who we are supporting. It would seem that they would be more grateful for what they are being given.
Welfare is not well and it is not fair.
It is a system that puts a burden on the backs of the working class to support (often) those who cannot or do not work, and who are so disinclined to inspire respect or a caring attitude in others that they would not ever get assistance without the government forceably taking it from one citizen to give to aother.
Often, now, the government openly supports those who are not even citizens by taking from those who are citizens.
In the community where I attended church as a child, there was ample FREE housing provided by our government. There were certain restrictions, of course, on who lived there.
Well, the liberals felt that restrictions were oppressive andcruel, so, little by little, the restrictions were illiminated. Through the years, the area went sharply downhill.
We were forced to close the doors of our church and sell the property for very little.
The very government that once built this housing is now using taxpayer money to tear it down.
It's a sad fact that people value little what they do not earn for themselves.
I feel sorry for this landlord, and I'm also sorry for the people who will be denied a place to live because this landlord might be reluctant to offer their property again.

I agree with thinkers.

I also agree that people who are receiving assistance should be drug tested. Not a scheduled test either. Make them random. Not all people abuse the system but if the state did this, then it would weed a lot of the problems out.

Im not judging people but it seems as if they are depending on the government to keep them up.Theres nothing wrong with them they are just too LAZY to work. They also shouldn't destroy other peoples property when they don't even own it.I think if they are going to rent a house, they should take care of it and not tare up what other people owned.

I just wanted to say:

Queen and Oak, I would like to shake your hands. Finally someone has the same point of view on welfare that I hold.

Its not that I am against it. I just feel that it needs to be done properly, and Druggies, illegals, and any other just plain lazy folk need to be kicked the hell off.

Its not a matter of Race, Creed, or color. You are either a decent person, trying to make it, or you are not.

You either use drugs or you do not....

There is no grey area there.

Amen JMacD! I personally don't care if you are black, white or purple. Don't care what you worship, don't care what your sexual orientation is either. I do care if my tax dollars are supporting you and your family because you are too lazy or drugged out to keep a job. I also care if you entered my country by illegal means, because you have already broken laws if you did.

Welfare has raised a generation that thinks the government owes them something. We have spoiled our children to the degree that they think money grows on trees and if you have a cerdit card you can get what you want. This country was built on hard work and it is the only thing that can save it now. Instead of working we worry about being politically correct.

Did you see where Obama let all those illegals stay in our country? I don't care if you have been here for 25 years, if you entered illegally, you should be booted the hell back over the border! Drug tests should be mandatory of anyone on government assistance and if you can't speak English you should not be able to apply.

Landlords should be able to view their own property and boot any one out that tears up the property, don't pay their rent or don't keep it clean. Court orders should not be necessary to do this either.

There is no crime in being poor, the sin is not wanting and working to try to make your situation better.

I know these people very well....
Everything that has been said is true. They are just lying trouble makers and fixin to get kicked out on the road. They get everything free, like the others said i am not judging but they should not depend on the government or their parents when theyre old enough to keep their self up......

.I went down that road to see if its true.Yep it is! These people are stupid. They have completely messed up that whole place.I seen how the yard looked a few yrs ago before they ever moved there and they just ruined it.Theres dogs everywhere and they sure know how to trash a place. If it was me I'd had them out of there to start with.If the mans gonna ride a bull dozer all day screwing up the yard hes capable of going out getting a job, right? Well im not judging people either who actually need the foodstamps and stuff but those people do NOT need it when both the people can get jobs and actually pay rent and there bills instead of getting there power turned off like every month. Ive heard all about them and i know its all true.Watch out who you're renting something to they just might do what DAVIS'S did if they're that crazy!
