"Government accountability means that public officials - elected and un-elected - have an obligation to explain their decisions and actions to the citizens. Government accountability is achieved through the use of a variety of mechanisms - political, legal and administrative - designed to prevent corruption and ensure that public officials remain answerable and accessible to the people they serve. In the absence of such mechanisms, corruption may thrive.".
I do believe that we need accountability in all government. For to long many of these elected officials have taken advantage and have intentionally abused their office. It i the responsibility of that elected official to police his own office to insure that such abuses are readily corrected, for it is that abuse by elected officials and their office that
causes the public to voice the mistrust of that official.
Personally, if I am elected to the seat of sheriff, I will provide full accountability to the office of sheriff.

To the citizens of Grainger County I want to applogize to each of you but after second look I have decided not to seek the office of sheriff. I'm sorry to give some of you the wrong direction but this should give you enough notice to find another canidate to back. Again I'm sorry. Mr. Hanna you wrote this a few days ago, so why do you keep going back and forth with your decisions on running? I am sorry but a man that can't make up his mind on running for sheriff would not make a good sheriff. Because a good sheriff needs to be able to make a decision good or bad and stick with it. Just my oppion as a tax payer and a voter.

You are in correct. I posted about two month ago that I had no intent to run for sheriff. This was posted on Bean Station Topix. After hearing about such
issues that effect all all, I have revisited that statement, and, i have decided to that I should take a firm stand. So may issues that effect each of us as a community.

No what I am referring to was on October 15th under why I am considering a run for sheriff.

I'm sorry, the only comment that I made was on October 15th, and that basically explained why I decided to run for the office of sheriff. I don't know if you are misreading this comment or I made have not presented clear enough. I have even received emails after you made your comment and everyone agrees it was clear and correct on just what I explained. I AM GOING TO RUN FOR THE OFFICE OF SHERIFF.

Here is what is wrote under the forum why I am considering a run for sheriff under the name Jim Hanna in the Rutledge forum.

Look it up there is no misunderstanding on my part I am just curious why you change your mind so much for.

My name is Hannan not Hanna, I never wrote that. I am constantly a target to those who feel that I am such a threat. Let me make this for the last time, count on it, I will ne on the 2014 ballot. I have been threatened by the best. I'm not retreating
or bowing to a simple minded individual. I will not comment on this. You you all in 2014, Until than, I will continue to bring my message to the good people of our loved community.

I appreciate your non-discriminative indulgence. It is difficult to deliver one's message on issues in this forum. That will soon change.

How about showing now that you have nothing to hide and answer our questions.

Concerned, you are beginning to sound like a troll.
Mr. Hannan has been very forthright with the readers of Topix.
He and we have two years to check each other out and find out all we need t know.
He has some really good ideas, and he's made himself approachable.
He has promised to be accountable and open to the public if and when he's elected.
He has promised to clean out some of the messes in the present administration (there's plenty).
He has promised to inform the public of his extensive creditentials and experiences.
He has told us about his family, his home, and his history.
So....do you want fries with that???

I don't know queen, if Mr. Hannan is being forthright or not. The page that I asked you and oak tree to look at on Law Enforcement Today has been deleted. I'm starting to think that Mr. Hannan has something to hide. Maybe he doesn't. I would like to say that if Mr. Hannan agrees to meet with one or both of you or oak tree and after the meeting he still has your seal of approval then I will let this go. I do trust your and oak trees judgment. So, I trust when he agrees to the meet that you will let us know.

A Friend: I promise that I will give a full accounting of any meetings I have with any candidate.
I am not keen on violating the sunshine law, and I do not believe in secret meetings to formulate a scheme for getting elected.
I have not yet began to worry about Mr. Hanan's daily habits. I have two years for that.
If he's sincere or not, we'll soon know, for he posts so much information that he will trip himself
up, and his house of cards (if that's what he's constructing), will come tumbling down.
All things come to he who waits.

Yes, mam, I agree. Oh wait...it's Your Majesty. Have a blessed day!
