The City nor County have never supplied insurance "AS FAR AS I KNOW" for the street dance or the tomato festival. That responsibility falls in the lap of the people putting on the tomato festival, not the tax payers. There are people placed in these positions each year, get involved. They ask sponsers for money, mostly businesses, that provides the cash needed for insurance and so forth. I have always thought it a shame that more businesses out side our county provide more than those inside of it. There are some supporters inside the county that give large sums each years, those are few and far between though. So, before you point fingers at people that have nothing to do with it, know what you are talking about. It is not the place of the tax payers, nor the grocery store to foot the bill for a street dance.

Rick cant be expected to foot the bill, why wasn't there some sort of Fund raising done for it? If we all want to participate, shouldn't we all give a little for it? I use the term *we* very loosely. I have never been, nor would I go, its just not my thing, but I always see a big crowd... I think if everyone there gave 5 bucks, it would be good to go.
