PRESS RELEASE

Press Release: Saturday 6th October 2007
WILLIAMS CENTER for THE ARTS, One Williams Plaza, Rutherford NJ is proud to conduct a "special online preview" of 'THE RIVOLI REBORN' a short documentary, produced and narrated by Sean McCarthy. Sean McCarthy is one of Ireland's most distinguished radio broadcasters, with a seasoned career as a talk show host on market-leader radio stations in the USA and Ireland. He recently moved from Dublin, Ireland, to Rutherford NJ.
"It's just as important for Bergen County residents to support the William Carlos Williams Center as it is for them to support their schools, football teams, associations, organisations and so on. I was raised in Dublin Ireland, and we take enormous pride in our theatres and literary legends back home. I'm sure it's the same here, isn't it?" says McCarthy.
"I hope that the good people of Rutherford and the surrounding communities realise that they have a remarkable opportunity to carry forward The Williams Center into a new era of activity, and my documentary captures some of that locally-based enthusiasm. Enjoy it. I had a wonderful time making it" McCarthy adds.

'THE RIVOLI REBORN'- a short documentary which explores the past glory of the famous Rivoli Theater located in downtown Rutherford New Jersey has just been launched to a global audience, ahead of the 1st Annual GALA which takes place at the Williams Center for The Arts, October 13th, 2007.

'THE RIVOLI REBORN' is a celebration of the history of the old Rivoli Theater, which was damaged in a fire in 1977 but which rose from the ashes, amidst various controversial plans including the proposal to demolish the old theater and build a car park in its place. The documentary also sheds light on Pulitzer Prize-winning poet William Carlos Williams, who lived and worked in Rutherford. The town is now a 'literary landmark' due to the works and history of the famous poet.
The launch of the short 20-minute documentary coincides with the 1st Annual GALA taking place October 13th 5:00 p.m. and featuring some of the area's finest talent.
