Indicted Russell G. Farmer

Our paper kept us informed of all the preceedings on Mr. Overholt. Recently Russell G. Farmer was indicted for 211 counts of rape, sodomy, and incest and nothing has been reported in the paper. Is he protected or is the paper tired of reporting important news to the community.

yes it is true! check your open records at the jail and the court house. he was charged and lodged in logan county jail 8/28/2008 but it has never been in the paper or the news. anyone with that many counts should never get to walk around like nothing has happened! the whole county should know what he has done

The paper kept it quiet to protect the victim. I don't blame them at all.

maybe it will be over soon, mr farmer's trial is to begin 2-2-09 then maybe the entire area will see what kind of man he really is and the victim will be able to breath easier, asking everyone to pray the "right" jury gets picked for this case. anyone tht violates children should have to dearly pay!

to clearing it up i know they were protecting the victim and i am sure the victim and the victims family appreciates that fact but with this monster, mr farmer, there may more "little girls" that he has violated on the way that may have the courgage to come forth if they only knew what was going on.

Yeah I can see your point there. It's a tough call though. Maybe there was enough proof that the victim was the only person he hurt. If that's the case, I can understand why they didn't make a big deal out of it. By the way, the paper did list the indictment a short while after it happened. It was mixed in with the other indictments and had no story or pictures.

since she is a cop in russellville russell didnt have a fair trial . it should of been somewhere other than here in logan county's kangaroo court as someone put it...... if you go against an officer no matter what your guilty ....

Dear un sure I am the ex wife of Russell Farmer and you have no idea what you are talking about. He is a very sick man and until you live with him, you should keep your comments to yourself and please spare me about "poor glenn"
as far as Ashley getting what she wanted from him..... he is trash and the lowest scum of earth that has never done one thing for any of his children and if you think he has, you are crazy. She has 2 brothers that will tell you the same thing, so they never sould use one parent against the other because he never did anything for none of them. WOW Great Dad!There was alot more stuff that could have been brought out but everyone wanted to keep it as clean as possible. This abuse started along time ago in his family and has always been swept under the rug to save face by his family memebrs, so before you start dogging my daughter, walk in my shoes. As far as Ashley looking like a dude, you must not have looked very close at her.She is a beautiful, strong, brave young woman that has overcome the abuse of a insane man and I could not be any prouder of her. You must be some kin to the family and if you are, that explains your comments.

What's confusing? She told exactly what happened to her and described every detail, she was only 11 years old, can you really take up for a man that done those things? Talk about her if you want but I bet it was someone close to you, you would have an different opinion

Poor Russell, i hopse and pray that everyday he lives that he lives a living hell just like she had too and other little girls had too that was too scared of grandparnets to tell the truth
