it takes the whole church to do someing not just a few you must know nothing about church and we do worry about it maybe because there is nothing we can do about it.

Maybe that is the problem, you are worried about a church and not the Kingdom of God. There is a difference. Scripture says to seek His kingdom first not our church buildings.

Actually I know quiet a bit about church and God. Scripture says where 3 are gathered to pray, the Lord is in their midst. If there are problems in the church, pray to the One that can take care of anything. If it is His will, it will be done. Otherwise He must have other plans for you and/or the church.

So what if one in that three is not praying for the right reasons. What if they are a wolves dressed as sheep. What do you do then? People can pray all they want but if they don't live according to the standards set by God then nothing will change. Matter of fact scripture says that fellowship is one of the key beliefs to modern Christians.(Modern meaning after the resurrection of Christ) Read Acts. The truth is many in the church are guilty of self. Malachi speaks of this, people love their selves more than God, they give God the left overs. Not good. Pray all you want but unless you are real with your faith nothing will happen.

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." It is not just about prayer even though I do believe it is extremely important. We must humble ourselves, pray, seek Him, and turn from our sin, then He will act.

Of course what do I know. We need more authentic faith not people acting like they have faith.

First of all not all preachers think they are God, they more of just a human trait not a preacher trait. Hence read about Adam and Eve, the whole book of Romans, or... well just read the Bible and you will see what I am talking about. Now granted I do believe there are some messed up preachers but just casting the blame on them is not just wrong but just plain foolish. Lets take ownership and admit none of us are prefect, Romans 3:23. Therefore we will have imperfect churches. But if we will fall in love with God and follow Him, preachers and members that will solve much of the problems. But in the end 1 Cor. 13 sums it up. Paul is writing to a church that has a multitude of problems which is dividing the church and he says right now we will only understand things partially but when the perfect comes (meaning Jesus) then we will know everything fully. So we are going to have problems but if we were to love God, with all our heart mind and soul, then love our neighbor as ourselves then that would help much. Pointing fingers only adds to the problem. Please don't take this as me chiding you but encourageing you, it not just a preacher thing even though at times they can hinder instead of helping. And I agree we do need preachers proclaiming the Word of God and not their own opinions.

My heart breaks for the family I have in that church. It has turned into a laughing stock of the community and the pastor is no doubt a cult leader. That church was a pillar of the community 3 years ago and now it’s a circus. I pray for not only those strong enough to stand, but those stupid enough to stay.

The pillar of the community! Oh my you are clueless, that church has been losing member for years, even before this pastor came. I don't know much about what's going on so I will not speculate on that but I can say with all my heart that it is not the pillar. Especially if you are considering churches. I believe there is another church right down the road that by far out serves Olmstead Baptist. 3 years ago I was living there, so I can speak of this as truth. This is not a shot at the church or you but just clarifying for you. Now maybe it was a pillar in your life but to be one in the community would require something that goes beyond its own walls, just sayin. I would say the post office there is more of a pillar than that church LOL. Tell how do you figure it is a pillar, because it has been there a long time. Sorry but that doesn't qualify. Again that church has not done anything in the last 20 years. Answer this for me how have they made a difference in the Olmstead community in the last 5 years? I am finding it difficult to find one thing I know they have did. Now whats makes it worse is that they supposedly have a guy who not preaching the word. Yeah I would go to that other church. Or drive to Russellville and go to church. I just saying. Remember just because you like a church does not make it a gret commission or act 1:8 church. It is has not been a pillar in over 20 years.

I don’t think I have ever met this pastor- but I had the opportunity to meet the former pastor of Olmstead Baptist several times. He was a nice guy. I don’t know specifically what he did for the community, but I know he had a huge heart for people in Olmstead and every time there was an event - (hayride, fish fry, etc.) he and he wife made sure everyone in the community knew to come. They, no doubt, served that community with all they had. What the church, as a whole, has done to further the cause of Christ is another story. They’ll all have to answer for themselves but I know the former pastor did what he could to serve the community. If I remember correctly he even ate lunch once a week with the pastor of “that other church” so they could talk about ways to help their neighbors. He cared. This new guy… not so much. I bet he doesn’t even know his neighbors names.

So I guess you are what should be considered a good Christian. It funny how everyone who disagrees with christians pulls out the judgment card. It shows how little you know about the word of God. I know what your going to say, "The Bible says if you judge you will be judge." Right? I do not deny that it says that. Matt 7.1 I think though it is important to define what it means to judge. It means to determine whether someone is innocent or guilty. Plain and simple. The truth for believers is that we understand that we all are guilty according to our sin. And the punishment for that is separation from God which leads to Hell. With that being said the only thing that frees people from eternal Judgment is salvation from Christ. Now judgment is not this, suppose one has an apple and I say that apple is red. That is not judging that simply stating a fact. So here a fact for you, Die without Christ as your Lord and having Faith in Him then you will spending eternity in Hell. I am not determining whether you are innocent or guilty, just stating a fact. Such as if I see you drive 90 in a 35, you will go to jail. Pointing out someone is breaking the law is not judging but simply stating the obvious. So for the Christian that points out sin with a pure heart is simply saying slow down to the speed limit because you might be killed or taken to jail. There will be judgment one day, don't say you wasn't warned.

with all the hate at olmstead baptist church..maybe they could go down the road and attend revival services at Dripping springs and see how christians are to act in a real church service...Olmstead has forgot why they go to church...also they can see what a real pastor is....
