From what I understand, there are a few couples who think they should be in charge of Rev. Ron's personal and moral life. One of the couples involved in it are both divorced, and one of them has been married four( yes I said four)times and this is just one of the couples. I suppose the deacons were swayed by the godly people (notice I did not capitalize God in referance to them) I am sorry to have to say this but the 4 couples I understand are at the heart of this need to look at their own lives and see if God thinks they should be judging or trying to cause trouble for anyone else. One of you needs to not have such hard feels for your own father.

Ok, is is widely known that if you are a Baptist minister that you nor your spouse can ever have been divorced. I use to attend a Methodist church whos pastor use to be a Baptist minister and had to leave the Baptist church because he married a woman who had been divorced. So he became a Methodist minister. So Bro. Ron should have known this rule and if he chose to date this divorced woman he should have been ready and aware of the consequences of his actions. So he just needs to become a Methodist. Now, with that said, I must say that I think the rule is silly but it is a rule none the less. I must also say, my family and I visited 2nd Baptist several time and I was not impressed with the ex-cop minister, he tried to convince us that 2nd Baptist was such a good church due to its facilities.... Buildings are not what makes a church... People make a church. I feel for the 2nd Baptist and this issue. I will be praying for them in this difficult time... God never closes a door that he does not open another one that is even better.

So if I understand what you are saying-You are not a member of this Church, you just visited??? If this is so, my opinion to you is that it is none of your business period! I believe something like this needs to be kept within the church and not blasted over a site like this! It is my belief that God is in control of everything and that he will take control of this church's situation- This site is nothing but the devil and you are just feeding him by dipping into something that is none of your business to beging with!

I am a member and it really is nobody's business. He was not asked to leave the church by the deacons. If you all who think you know it all were there last Sunday you would have heard him say that exact thing. If he resigned to be with this divorced woman, then it's time for him to go. The church was not his, it's GOD'S. Everyone needs to remember that. Instead of spreading rumors and gossip try praying, I hear it works alot better. I think that's what the church needs right now. And if MY MIND is a member SHAME on YOU for talking about your own brothers and sisters in Christ.

This is not just a Baptist rule, if you read your Bible, you will know what Jesus himself said about the divorce.

Gene. You are EXACTLY right. And to divorce someone and leave your family for someone else is in the bible too, it's called ADULTRY. What that preacher done is wrong. Plain and simple. Nobody on here should be blaming the church members. Aren't we all sinners? Isn't that why we go to church? But a pastor should be held in a higher standard. He leads the people. Now, just like always, members will leave because of all the "Rumors" and back biting, when they should stick together during this trying time. Pray Second Baptist Members and God will answer and send you an even better leader. Just PRAY!

The evil is in the churches. He feeds on this type of division. Please everyone quiet your tongues, stop talking about this, especially on here and pray. I don't know Brother Ron but he is one of God's children and God loves him. We must not judge. We must love one another and do what Jesus would do. Please fellow Christians, don't let evil creep into your words. Have kind hearts, forgiving love and put your armor on because this is just one more fight.

i am so proud your lives are so perfect. I never planned to be divorced in my life but i would not live in a life of abuse. I think i am forgiven. You all make people not want to go to church. It is sad.

Ron Wells is human just like everyone of else. He does not have Angel wings he make mistakes jus like all of us. It is not for us to judge what is in his heart God is the one and only judge. If what he has done has affected you persnally then it is up to you to forgive him, if you cant do that then God will judge you. He has to answer to God not to every person in Russellville. I have been thrugh a split in church where 1 family thinks it ran the church, there were a lot of innocent people got hurt. If you dont watch it that is just what your heading for here.

all i know is members of 2nd baptist church troll the local neighborhood always with a new gimmick to get me to come. Honestly, If i wanted to come to your church; I'd go. Leave me alone and quit ringing my door-bell at awkward times, I don't want your fuckin chili.

To CRAZY and O WELL. Look like both of you have never set food in a chruch from the language you're using. When judgement day comes and God doesn't know you, and you are condemed to burn in Hell for eternity. You might not have wanted the chili, but you might have wanted to know your Lord Jesus Christ. I'll pray for both of you. And I don't go to that church. I just think it's sad that non-believers (obviously from your comments)are taking this opportunity to destroy God's house. Sad, folks. Really Sad.

This one of the many reasons i dont go to any paticular church. Im just a christian, period!
Most churches i have encountered are more worried about what you wore to church, how much you put into the offering plate and what you had for dinner the night before because THEY THINK you did something wrong. I could care less what YOU think...the only person i answer to will be the Lord...PERIOD! If people worried more about their own wrong doings and their own salvation they would have a full time job and not have time to run around getting into other peoples buisness!
Not to mention how quickly people jump to quote from the bible, taking passages out of context to cater to their own needs!
God forbid a preacher be human and seek companionship...thats just unheard of... im sure he would love invintations the next time the people of his church walk on water, im mean after all, they are so perfect and he is so sinful.
Give me a break.....and the members of 2nd baptist church who brought this issue up in the first place, SHAME ON YOU! Sit in judgement of your own self........

I have know Rev. Ron for 40 years.
Jesus said that we are not to judge others.
Jesus also said something else that has always brings Rev. Ron to my mind when I read it...not judging mind you....just makes me think of him.
“Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”
